JOB PURPOSE

Raw Material Developer - Large and small Leather Goods Runway/Mainline Men and Women

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understanding of raw material including Leather, fabrics, technique and print finishing processes, ability to launch exclusive developments with suppliers.
  • Protect Burberry aesthetic- product knowledge and ownership, quality and attention to detail
  • Capability of working with multiple projects & cross functional teams; partnering closely with Design teams.
  • Passion for fashion and product knowledge- "fashion sensibility" knowledge of trends, the market, peer awareness and knows the luxury consumer
  • Commercial awareness including understanding of product cost, and business acumen, balance between creativity and commercial
  • Understanding of testing parameters, quality requirements and fundamentals of chemicals used in finishing
  • Awareness of the end to end Critical Path and key milestones
  • Process and systems knowledge and experience - PLM and SAP.
  • Knowledge of the global supplier market and ability to interact with suppliers

  • Strong time management skills- experience of working in high paced environment
  • Business acumen .
  • Strong partnership skills.
  • Highly organised
  • Capable of prioritisation.
  • Technical understanding of Accessories and leather goods and working closely with suppliers and factories.
  • Excel essential and Indesign skills preferable
  • Italian would be a plus
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of development process, collection building and seasonal dates
