Due to our growth we are looking for a talented Childrenswear Buyer to join our dynamic international buying team. Previous experience within the luxury market is essential, knowledge of foreign languages will be considered as an advantage. You will have previous e-Commerce experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Buyers and management
  • Prepare and analyse brand sales reports prior to buying appointments
  • Lead appointments and attend buying trips and trade shows
  • Accurately and quickly inputting order details at buying appointments, selecting the products, and working within set budgets
  • Develop brand expertise and maintain good working relationships with suppliers
  • Being up to date with latest trends, news, and fashion events/collaborations
  • Understand customer’s web journey, having a good understanding of our back end systems
  • Monitor regularly the market to identify new trends, brands, commercial opportunities and competitors
  • Liaise and update the Merchandising team on collections, budget, and delivery due dates
  • Support Senior Buyers in business meetings when requested
  • Work closely with Senior Buyers to manage the workflow, accurately and quickly perform all tasks given and ensure all systems and records are up to date.
  • Work in a team and manage  Administrative Assistants and Assistant Buyers, support your team to resolve any order confirmation queries and delivery stock issues
  • Support Senior Buyers in training junior members of the team and new starters
  • Prepare high-level analysis on sales/product/brand performance
  • Improve department systems and workflows, provide constructive feedback
  • Work across all areas of the business – liaise and support in resolving product queries with other departments such as Merchandising, Studio, Marketing, Customer Services

Skills:

  • Excellent communicator
  • Good knowledge of the childrenswear industry and brands, specifically within the luxury and premium brand
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of fabrics and garments construction
  • Passion for luxury fashion and great eye to detail
  • Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint & Word
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Fast learner, adapt to changes, proactive, creative
  • Good time management - ability to organise, multitask, prioritise, and work under pressure
  • Ability to self-manage and work to set timescales
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, team player
  • Highly numerical and analytical skills

This role is based at our Head Office in Tunbridge Wells with some remote working.
