JOB PURPOSE

The Data Steward will work closely with the Master Data team and Data Solutions to ensure that data relating to Product is of the required integrity and quality. You will be responsible for driving the creation and improvement of the necessary processes and procedures to ensure that all data meets the expected quality, integrity and timeliness. You will be a key member of the Data Migration effort for project implementation(s) and a key partner and member of the Product Data Governance Forum.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for data integrity and data quality for their domain.
  • Keeping the Data Glossary up to date and confirming changes in definitions to the relevant Data owner(s).
  • Ensuring that data adheres to definitions that have been agreed by the Data owner(s).
  • Monitoring Data Quality to ensure that it meets the stipulated quality targets.
  • Defining and managing remediation where data quality targets are breached.
  • Defining Data Standards and Business Rules to ensure adherence to agreed Data Standards and quality targets.
  • Ensuring adherence with the end-to-end Data lifecycle.
  • Overseeing the implementation of Business Rules for data capture / creation / change / deletion.
  • Overseeing the implementation of data security as part of the system and business processes.
  • Working with project teams to define data requirements for events such as a new channel, store etc.
  • Facilitating the work groups necessary to drive improvements to data quality, processes and procedures.
  • Aligning to the priorities set out in the Product Data Governance Forum.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Knowledge of Master Data and good experience in Data Management.
  • Hands-on experience of Excel.
  • Product data experience, planning/ merchandising experience desirable.
  • SAP/ERP Experience desirable.
  • Experience of working in a data stewardship role and driving process efficiency and data quality / standards.
  • Ability to manage large sets of data, and identify and fix errors.
  • Ability to quickly manipulate data, and prepare reports as needed in an environment with large data sets.
  • Experience with MAP and Product attribution and able to recognise key metrics required to be met.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information succinctly and concisely.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and work effectively with others at all levels across the business.
