Job Title:                     Global Communications Director

Work Type:                Hybrid

Reports to:                  VP Global Marketing & Communications

  SUMMARY

Lead and manage the company's global communications strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives and profitability goals. Support all Carolina Herrera New York and licensees in communications policies, objectives, and initiatives to ensure development and implementation of cohesive, innovative marketing programs adhering to global brand guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. The VP Global Marketing & Communications as necessary may assign other duties:

Manage all PR and press activity for Carolina Herrera:

  • Identify and pitch digital press opportunities across all media platforms (Print/digital) to create unique partnerships and storytelling opportunities
  • Draft, edit, and format Communications documents, including: press releases, media alerts, and brand statements
  • Maintain a keen understanding and relevance in industry related matters
  • Cultivate and establish new relationships with media contacts
  • Support VP on activation strategies pertaining to VIP, Influencer and partnership relations
  • Generate internal communication tools to share press and brand activity
  • Oversee PR Manager and sample tracking tool
  • Support PR Licensees with communications strategies and local events support
  • Oversee all communication budgets

                       

Brand Events

  • Manage production of brand events - Develop concepts and formats directly with third party vendors and events partners: managing, such as florists, event producers, caterers, lighting designers to adhere to brand standard to achieve event goals
  • Managing the execution of in house events
  • Oversee the guest lists
  • Produce and manage event budget, timelines and a cohesive recap
  • Leverage all events (branding/wholesale/retail) to maximize local and national press opportunities
  • Support Marketing Manager in efforts for Retail and Wholesale events where necessary

Show

  • Identify and create seasonal invitation list for international press, VIP and influencers
  • Liaise with external teams respective lists: Wholesale, Retail, Intl PR, Puig, Institutional, Internal executives
  • Work with Production company/serve as internal communicator for show direction while maintaining a budget
  • Partner with production on venue search, budget, décor and design elements
  • Oversee agency or partners for invitation send out and seating, follow ups
  • Manage scheduling during week for show partner
  • Production, casting director, music producer, stylist, HMU
  • Manage HMU bookings and special sponsorships
  • Hair, MU, Nails
  • Generate Press release and Run of show

Pre-Collection

  • Create seasonal invitation list
  • Liaise with VM on décor elements
  • Produce Event on seasonal basis
  • Manage pre collection budget, booking of presentation models, and schedule for appointments

Budget

  • Oversee communications (Event, Show, VIP, Influencers)  budgets by creating and managing yearly communications budget and tracking spending and invoices

Press, Agency and Partner Management

  • Work closely with licensees to align on overall brand strategy
  • Key day to day Liaison for Global PR agencies, ensuring that we are driving the CHNY press strategy on a day to day basis
  • Key liaison for feature, interview requests
  • Grow relationships with publishers to produce
  • Create and execute innovative press strategies to promote new collections and overall brand awareness, in line with overall business strategies
  • Develop feature stories and product story ideas to pitch to top editors and target publications in order to secure exclusive and effective press coverage across all outlets
  • Cultivate and maintain executive editor relationships and above in order to maximize brand exposure

Sample Management

  • Work with the all teams to manage sample requests and expectations through PR and Events Manager, focusing on editorial, PUIG and VIP requests

Reporting

  • Oversee communications portion of Weekly Marketing and Communications report
  • Oversee Monthly Editorial highlights, Weekly Press Requests, and Credit Requests
  • Manage Pre-Collection Attendance Report, Yearly events Calendar, and Event Recaps

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in marketing, preferably in ready-to-wear or accessories luxury industry
  • College Education required
  • Strong communications skills, interpersonal and relationship building skills; able to work as a team, as well as handle projects on his/her own
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • CRM Software
