JOB SUMMARY

This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead a fast-paced team focused on Site Reliability functions across Tory Burch Technology services. In this high impact role, you will partner closely with other engineering teams across the org to architect, design and deploy highly available and scalable globally distributed services at Tory Burch.
The incumbent must have a strong focus on understanding business expectations and requirements, set a high bar for themselves, like to solve problems, and demonstrate tenacity when developing and instituting new processes and influencing adoption across technology and business.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage a team of SREs
  • Have a solid understanding of our Technology landscape, architecture, services, and operations to implement improvements in service reliability, and performance
  • Performing an in-depth analysis of the possible risks and countermeasures for them
  • Calculating the potential cost of outages and planning for contingency
  • Preparing input for infrastructure/tooling/workflow updates across the organization
  • Developing best practices and guidelines to improve overall system reliability
  • Drive operational Excellence across the organization, planning, implementing, and monitoring of services
  • Educating the Dev and Ops (or DevOps) teams to follow the guidelines and best practices to minimize the number of errors and incidents.
  • Manage simulation & load testing for critical applications and preparation for scaled events readiness
  • Manage and own relationships with 3rd Party service providers for day-to-day operational support
  • Improve service reliability through blameless post incident RCA process and using code to prevent or respond to problem recurrence
  • Participate in 24x7 site reliability on-call rotations and escalation workflows
  • Nurture an environment of continuous learning which builds excellent engineering skillset to manage systems health through monitoring, automated alerts, and incident response
  • Drive weekly operations reviews across teams that includes incident response, performance, and availability metrics


EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Experience managing a team of software, SRE, and/or system engineers
  • Experience writing code in node.js, Go, python, or a similar programming language
  • 3+ Years' experience of leading teams as a people manager with a demonstrated ability to hiring and growing engineers.
  • Experience in GCP/Azure or other equivalent cloud stack and experience with multi/hybrid cloud environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience with deployment tools like Terraform, Ansible
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, ELK Stack, Stackdriver
  • Experience in troubleshooting and root cause of complex issues across micro-service architecture
