Commercial Team

The Commercial Team leads and develops the supply strategies to grow our business. The team consists of Merchandising, Planning, Buying, Business Development, and Stadium Apparel departments. The team creates and manages strategic sales, pricing and gross margin targets while balancing inventory across all sales channels. They partner with all departments to guarantee a successful and profitable product life cycle, to identify new revenue-enhancing opportunities in the supply landscape, and to build the Stadium Goods brand.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the SVP Commercial, the Senior Director, Business Development will develop the strategic direction and work on Stadium Goods growth projects. This includes identifying essential areas of opportunity / untapped white space in the sneakers, streetwear and luxury premium market and aftermarket, developing a new business framework , and targeting and recruiting new sneakers, apparel, and collectables consignors and direct partnerships with brands. You will also drive projects supporting Stadium Goods sales channels including our 2 retail stores. You will be supported by a team of direct reports and expected to travel on a quarterly basis to industry trade shows, events, and essential geographic markets where we want to capture market share.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • You will develop in-depth understanding of consignor base including complexion of supply and geographic footprint to better identify areas of opportunity for new business
    • You will develop framework for new business including bottoms up and top down business development targets
    • You will use personal industry knowledge and network and relationships from internal experts to establish pipeline of new partnerships with sneakers and streetwear brands and consignors
    • You will guide the development of pitch materials for prospective partners
    • You will attend major industry trade shows and events representing the Stadium Goods brand and pitching the Stadium Goods value proposition and market position to prospective partners
    • You will partner with sales channel owners to understand opportunities by channel and how you can best support and capitalize upon those opportunities
    • You will build upon opportunities to cultivate incremental business with all partners through activations in stores and events with third parties
    • You will oversee new business development projects to grow Stadium Goods presence in key geographic markets
    • You will drive projects and ideation for all brand expansion including expansion of SKUs, brands, categories and brand collaborations; Oversee these initiatives to completion
    • You will review and negotiate commercial terms with prospective partners; Partner with Farfetch Legal to revise contracts and partnership agreements before obtaining final approval from SVP Commercial
    • You will maintain in-depth industry expertise of longer term trends, shifts in consignor and consumer behavior, and opportunities for Stadium Goods expansion
    • You will manage a team of direct reports


WHO YOU ARE

    • You have 10+ years' experience as a operator building business(es) in the consumer space; Experience in direct-to-consumer, luxury, sneakers, or streetwear beneficial but not essential
    • You have in-depth understanding of premium market and after market dynamics and marketplace and consignment economics
    • You have experience being a results driven leader, with successful ideation and execution of creative new business concepts / new revenue stream development
    • You have experience balancing vision with execution
    • You have a strong sense of ownership and determination to get things done
