E-commerce Director 

In this cross-functional position, you will be maintaining and optimising our e-commerce website, setting up and maintaining and/or exceeding revenue and profit goals.

In this role, you will be responsible for various facets of online operations, business planning, and marketing strategies. Your task will be to provide a thoughtful analysis of market trends, strategies on how to increase brand awareness, insight on increasing online sales, and ways to improve customer acquisition and retention.

Operating within our dynamically growing company you will be overseeing both operations and marketing sides of our E-commerce channel, with a stronger focus on marketing and sales.

We expect you to be hands-on in the management of day-to-day e-commerce tasks and team management, without taking away from improving sales performance, scaling the business, introducing new sales channels, cleaning up strategies, and focusing on marketing.

 

The position is available immediately and is offered as remote, candidates from the UK and Europe are encouraged to apply.

 

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the e-commerce team - fulfilment, online content and customer service departments
  • Establishing and overseeing goals for the team
  • Ensuring that products online have accurate and relevant pricing, imagery and description information
  • Ensure that merchandising works to its best results and keep overseeing updates to generate the highest conversion 
  • Checking stock and inventory updates from the Fulfilment department 
  • Setting and following operational and marketing budgets 
  • Managing and analysing stock levels in accordance to plan and budgets
  • Managing and overseeing e-commerce logistics (including production lead times and inventory levels to prevent stock-outs) and the full-funnel customer journey.
  • Optimising and improving customer experience by closely managing customer service, customer analytics data and ensuring seamless order fulfilment on the side of the fulfilment team
  • Optimising user experience by optimising our Shopify platform 
  • Collaborating with partner in web design and outsourcing web development team to make web design optimisations and adjustments as needed to improve the shopping experience on various devices 
  • Interviewing and hiring employees
  • Communicating with suppliers, production team and fulfilment centre executives.

 

SALES AND ANALYTICS RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting short and long term goals for scalable growth alongside our executive team to increase revenues and profits
  • Ensuring there is enough stock to feed the planned results
  • Setting up stock budgets 
  • Forecasting demand especially with a strong focus on seasonality 
  • Developing and managing customer satisfaction strategies to gain recurring business, avoid cart abandonment 
  • Developing and maintaining efficient and relevant promotion strategies, relevant discounts, gifting, etc.
  • Analysing customer engagement and shopping data to improve online merchandising to deliver higher conversion results 
  • Analysing all data reports by channel, region, product etc. weekly to generate the most accurate sales forecasts, create stock budgets and optimise growth strategies 
  • Using data analytics to track, improve and timely manipulate online sales performance as well as help the executive team to enhance business development across all company areas.
  • Gathering and presenting all data analytics with relevant conclusions and advice to company executives 
  • Using all instruments and skills at hand to reduce customer acquisition costs, increase average order value and most importantly extend customer’s lifetime value.

 

DIGITAL MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES:

While having a heavy focus on the functions of the online store, you will also be responsible for managing the digital marketing strategy

  • Creating and executing marketing strategies along with executive and marketing teams to achieve the set business objectives 
  • Using and prioritising according to efficiency various types of marketing and advertising strategies to build brand awareness and increase sales.
  • Expanding the current digital marketing channels, introduce new efficient ones
  • Planing marketing budgets according to set growth goals, campaign calendar and revenue targets
  • Scaling customer acquisition and retention on all digital channels - email, SMS, SEO, social media, YouTube etc. to achieve the set revenue goals and maintain marketing budgets
  • Creating and managing digital marketing calendar, planning digital marketing campaigns to deliver business objectives, improve KPIs and drive site traffic 
  • Defining content marketing strategy for the website and social media along with marketing team, SMM and CD
  • Managing and leading the execution of digital assets to drive website traffic and on-site conversion.
  • Running weekly digital marketing data analytics reports to optimise all channels campaigns and generate cost efficiency without taking away from the set budget planning 
  • Working with and managing outside digital marketing targeting partners 
  • Working if necessary with external agencies specializing in web development, SEO, paid social, and Google AdWords 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be in charge of signing and launching other online channels and managing the seamless integration of product and fulfilment processes between A.W.A.K.E. MODE and these channels. 

You will be asked to be in charge of online sales and operations for these other channels carrying A.W.A.K.E. MODE products according to these channels’ requirements (i.e. Farfetch, Zalando, 24S).


Due to the nature of the job, during peak seasons, you will be asked to work weekends or after hours.

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in business administration/finance/marketing and/or digital marketing
  • Minimum 1-year experience in heading luxury online e-commerce preferably on Shopify platform
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business management
  • 2 years of experience in online sales 
  • 3 years of experience in digital marketing 
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Shopify platform technologies, ability to generate necessary analytics data and introduce tactical changes to the website
  • Proven track record of driving traffic and sales growth online.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing a successful digital marketing strategy
  • Proven track record of successful customer acquisition and retention 
  • Proven track record of improving website conversions 
  • Strong ability to manage marketing and stock budgets
  • Extensive SEO knowledge
  • Knowledge, understanding and awareness of key industry trends and competitors’ experiences

You will be reporting to the COO, CEO and Founder;

You will be managing the E-commerce team; external digital marketing agencies; fulfilment centre, external web designers/developers; SMMs;

You will be working closely with the CEO, COO, founder, e-commerce team, fulfilment centre executives, financial controller, SMM, marketing team, external marketing agencies, external web developers, the production team
