Assistant Technical Designer

Responsibilities:

Support and assist the technical design team ( for wovens & knits ) and other teams when necessary:

• Preparing samples for fitting: checking in samples and creating weekly fit list, spec and steam/iron garments
• Measure and review samples for fit, measurement, trims and workmanship to ensure it meets established standard and integrity of product design
• Assist in fittings: take detailed notes and photos
• Create Tech Pack measurements and construction details using RLM
• Assist with development and production fit comments, starting from proto stage to final TOP comments, using RLM for both in-house pattern markers and overseas factories
• Work with patternmakers / sewers on mock ups and construction techniques   
• Prioritize workload adhering to timeline calendar to meet deadlines
• Take on additional projects as needed, errands to midtown or copy patterns

Requirements

• Prior Internship or some industry experience in tech design department preferred
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design / Technical Design / Patternmaking a plus
• Understanding of garment engineering, construction, pattern-making and sewing 
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
• Attention to detail, organized, accurate and articulate
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate fit comments / corrections to internal and external counterparts
• Versatile in a fast-pace and changing environment
• Team player
• Knowledge of Excel & outlook a plus
