Do you have a passion for concepting and designing rugged outerwear with a focus on fabric, sustainability, and authenticity? Do you love apparel, specifically outerwear, and all the details/nuances that go into it? Faherty is seeking a qualified Designer who is dynamic and focused to make the company’s outerwear assortment the best that it can be.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage creative and technical development of product within merchandise assortment strategy
  • Help lead the men’s design team in the creation of seasonal concept boards, sketching, presentation set up, detailing of product, communication with merchandising, partnership with tech design and product development team members
  • In partnership with the Design Director, be responsible for fabric and trim selection
  • Coordinate sample production process to ensure that samples are produced and delivered on a timely basis
  • Actively participate and conduct fittings
  • Ensures that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy
  • Keen awareness of fashion market trends and innovation
  • Consistently evaluate color mood direction and market/trend research
  • Continue to push the evolution and progression of the Faherty Men’s product
  • Grow the accessories category (hats, bags, and more)

 

Must have qualifications include:

  • Degree in Fashion Design or a related field
  • A minimum of 5-7 years men’s design experience
  • Experience in outerwear and accessories a plus
  • Motivation - feel compelled to take action without requiring additional prompting from supervisors
  • Solid organizational skills to manage both physical and digital spaces
  • Ability to hand sketch ideas and concepts
  • Strong design and conceptual skills
  • Strong sense of style and color
  • Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color use, sewing techniques, graphics, and trim
  • Understanding of merchandising as it relates to sales and store environment
  • Advanced computer knowledge including Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple team members
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently by balancing different seasons concurrently
  • Goal oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
