Lead Web Developer [Shopify Hydrogen/Headless]

SKIMS is hiring an experienced Web Developer to join the ecommerce team and lead development initiatives across SKIMS.com. This Role will require being in our office in Los Angeles on a hybrid basis.

You’ll be joining a team of passionate commerce experts that are constantly pushing to deliver the very best product (physical and digital) experiences to our customers. We pay attention to performance, write tests for our code, hit our deadlines, and care about design. You’ll partner with Digital Product to deliver on our ambitious product roadmap.

Our technology stack

  • Shopify+ for the backend
  • REST & GraphQL for our APIs
  • Sanity for our CMS
  • Modern JS frameworks on the frontend (React & Next)

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with the digital product manager following development sprints/roadmaps to optimize website experience & functionality.
  • Be a key stakeholder in the future shape of our commerce stack and have end-to-end responsibility for projects of increasing complexity.
  • Lean on your previous experience to be an advocate for an API-first (or headless) architecture
  • Work closely with external development agencies on larger scale projects
  • Deploy frequent improvements, and openly communicate post mortem analysis with partnering teams to continually improve workflows

You:

  • Have 5+ years experience working with the various components of our technology stack
  • Have worked with structured content tools and a headless CMS (e.g. Contentful, Sanity) at scale
  • Have hands-on experience with complex production systems at scale (bonus points for ecommerce experience)
  • Are motivated by working in a fast-growing, dynamic, and iterative environment
  • Believe in the value of test-driven development.
  • Have a knack for knowing what needs to be built/owned vs what can be bought
