Summary

As we enter an exciting phase in Burberry's evolution, the Director of Colleague Communications will develop and drive a holistic strategy for colleague communications globally. Aligning with key functions across the business, you will operate as the internal voice of the organisation, Chief People Officer and CEO, delivering communications that drive engagement and build a shared understanding of our values and business priorities. Reporting to the VP, Employee Relations, with a dotted line to the SVP Corporate Affairs and Engagement, you will work across the Talent, Experience, Reward and D&I Centres of Expertise to source and write all people-related internal content, together with co-ordinating key company events, such as Global Town Halls.

Responsibilities

Internal Communications
  • Develop and drive a holistic strategy for communications to our colleagues globally, supporting the leadership to drive engagement and build a shared understanding of our values and business priorities
  • Lead the team responsible for delivering the colleague communications programme, ensuring the timely execution of accurate, coherent and impactful deliverables
  • Source and write all people-related content, working closely with Talent, Experience, Reward and D&I Centres of Expertise
  • Coordinate content and delivery of key company events including Global Town Hall meetings (both online and face-to-face), and global recognition events
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Burberry (Strategy, Finance and IR, Commercial, Marketing, Digital, Product, Supply Chain, People and Responsibility) to ensure alignment of internal communications and strategies
  • Implement effective issue/crisis management
  • Work closely with Corporate Relations team to ensure narrative on external channels reflects People priorities and aligns with employer brand
  • Measure the effectiveness of Colleague Communications output to drive continuous improvement

Experience
  • Experience of strategic communications business partnering within a large organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills combined with a strong attention to detail
  • Dynamic project management with a passion for developing people
  • A collaborative, engaging and transparent approach to working with colleagues and other stakeholders across functions and geographies
  • Experienced presenter and facilitator, comfortable and credible in front of senior stakeholders
  • Technically competent with knowledge of SharePoint, Yammer and email marketing tools. Previous experience of being the intranet owner and channel manager
  • Familiar with writing C-suite communications and providing guidance
