Job Details

Purpose of Role
This position is responsible for assisting the Global Trade & Customs Manager and Global Trade Services' efforts to ensure the company's processes, internal controls, and reporting are compliant with international laws & regulations. The individual will provide international compliance support for areas such as product classification, trade preference programs, admission eligibility, and analysis of trade issues. The position is located a t our Jacksonville, FL office. (Hybrid model)

Perform on-going analysis of product

- Research and perform HTS classification of products for US, Europe, and Canada.
- Identify and assist with tariff engineering opportunities during product development.
- Identify and communicate any product eligibility issues.
- Determine subjectivity to U.S. Fish and Wildlife and other government partner agencies.

Maintain Global Trade Management Software

- Update product master with HS classifications, and PGA information as needed.
- Communicate pertinent product information to internal customers, as well as Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers, and suppliers.

Operational Support

- Provide support to internal partners on trade and customs matters such as sample management, hand carrying procedures, carnets, duty rates, country of origin determination and labeling and other general trade inquiries.
- Support internal self-testing program and audit product information to ensure accuracy and support the C-TPAT Trade Compliance framework.
- Review products' eligibility for duty reductions programs.
- Complete simple administrative tasks to support duty payment to customs entities and ensure accurate submissions of entry info.
- Provide training and put together educational information for non-Trade compliance partners.

The accomplished individual will possess...

- Bachelor's Degree (Business, Supply Chain, or International focus preferred) or relevant, equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years' work experience, preferably in multi-national environment.
- Experience in HTS product classification and researching customs rulings and compliance publications.
- Strong analytical and good decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks; is flexible, adaptable, collaborative and follows­ through.
- Ability to research, interpret and apply complex government regulations in actionable activities as appropriate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate complex Customs and Trade issues to a non­ expert audience, internally and externally.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs quickly.
- Responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment across global regions and cross-functionally.
- Understanding of system integrations, ERP, global classification database.

An outstanding professional will have...

- Licensed Customs Broker (or desire to obtain license), Certified Customs Specialist, is a plus but not required.
- Experience with sustainability programs.
- Experience completing internal audits.
- MS Office proficiency, especially with excel and Teams.
