Accountant

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

We are looking for an Accountant to join and support Frescobol Carioca’s future growth. Reporting to the Finance Leader, you will be responsible for all areas of accounting including the month end close activities, reconciliations, posting journals, VAT, payments and other.

This is an ideal role for some with a strong interest in month-end close processes and accounting but also enjoys working with our ERP system, NetSuite, and find ways to help the company utilize it in more effective ways.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

FINANCIAL

• Own the timely completion of all accounting activities during monthly close – B/S account reconciliations, invoice processing, cash payments, accruals, prepayments etc.
• Process month-end journal entries including accruals and prepayments
• Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance sheet, Cashflow statements) and reconciliation of key account balances including stock
• Help in monitoring the AR aging report and ensure timely receipts of payments from customers
• Track all payments in & out of the company; manage and coordinate all vendor payments and expense reimbursements
• Assist the FP&A team with any queries
• Lead the preparation of quarterly VAT filings (Portugal & UK)
• Assisting in preparation of statutory accounts
• Review & approve payroll documents prepared by third party provider ensuring appropriate changes have been reflected and reflect in ERP System
• Perform Accounting analysis, provide advice and solve accounting and technical issues.
• Assist the Finance leadership in various ad-hoc financial planning & analysis as well as special projects, as needed.

NETSUITE ERP SYSTEM ADMIN

• Take the lead on ERP-related queries (Netsuite), develop a deep understanding of the current processes and assist in designing and implementing system controls to provide quality assurance over financial data
• Manage big datasets in a scalable way via Excel PowerPivot ERP database query & identify areas to achieve better efficiency

• Experienced in an SME preferred
• Strong Excel & Modelling skills
• Tech Savvy, hands on experience with ERP and Reporting systems, Netsuite experience highly preferred
• Fluent in English; Portuguese a plus
