As a Senior Logistics Manager (w/m/d) within the Customer Fulfillment team, you will lead the discovery, design, implementation and ongoing performance management of new and innovative premium delivery & returns products for Zalando's most valuable customers in international markets. You will work collaboratively with product, tech and operations teams across Zalando, and externally with third party carriers and logistics providers (like DHL, Hermes, DPD, GLS, to name a few) to bring these new products to market. You will take ownership for the ongoing success and performance of these products by continuously monitoring their performance against target KPIs & SLAs, deep dive into problems, and look to continuously improve the products through customer feedback and data insights.
  • Drive the expansion of Zalando Plus program into new markets through discovering, building, launching, and operating new delivery & returns products and supporting fulfilment processes
  • Lead third party carrier & product discovery, vendor contract negotiations and ongoing relationship management
  • Drive the design of logistics network and operations (e.g. implementing new processes, workflows, linehaul connections) for new markets, with warehouse & transport teams
  • Plan and support service launches to millions of customers in international markets
    Track and improve performance of our products, through performance monitoring of KPIs like order fulfillment capacity, delivery lead times, delivery promise adherence, etc
  • Build relationships and collaborate across tech, product, operations stakeholder groups and senior/executive level leadership to present insights, build consensus and drive changes
  • Previous relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, transport or fulfillment domains. Previous roles in either project/program management, logistics operations, process excellence/ industrial engineering, business analysis, or service provider/vendor management
  • Excellent English language proficiency, with additional German and other European language highly preferred.
  • Well-honed skills in stakeholder management, written & verbal communication, and negotiation with teams in commercial, technology and operations domains, you are able to effectively communicate with stakeholders from different levels.
  • Experience in vendor/supplier management, quoting/tendering, contracting, defining service level agreements and maintaining ongoing productive relationships
  • Highly comfortable in using data and analytics to generate your own reports and insights, for data-informed decision making and root cause analysis (You are a self-professed pro at SQL, Google Studio, MicroStrategy, MS Excel, Tableau, or similar)
  • Proactive and action-oriented team player, who is highly organized, self-directed and motivated. You reflect regularly on your own work and are eager to grow and develop further.
  • Fluency in English, German is a plus
