The Team

Fitting within the wider Omnichannel Development, Controlling & Business Operations department, the Digital Retail team's objective is to create an omnichannel consumer & store staff experience across all distribution channels. We focus on enhancing the in-store experience by offering relevant and innovative digital products, tools and services. We use Design Thinking methodologies to understand the ever-changing needs of our consumers & store associates, identifying key pain points and opportunities in their journeys and conceptualizing digital solutions to solve those challenges.

Our team already developed a wide variety of digital omnichannel experiences (smart fitting room mirrors, endless aisle kiosks, CRM personalization tools, etc.), deployed in a large number of stores around the world. We seek to inspire our consumers as well as empower our store staff by putting technology at their service.

The Position

As a Product Owner for the "Store Associates Apps" product team, you are responsible for managing a portfolio of digital products that our store associates use every day. Your role is to improve current solutions but also build new ones to improve the life of our store ambassadors, making their role & tasks easier, faster and more connected. You also keep an eye on the big picture, building a vision for the future of digital in-store and are responsible to lead a multidisciplinary scrum team on this journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the product owner for multiple in-store digital products (applications, systems, tools) on a global scale, for both Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. Build new solutions and continuously improve them over time
  • Responsible for product management including defining, scoping, planning, design, development, rollout and support of the digital solutions
    • Defining: work with expansion team + stakeholders in building clear briefings, define project/product objectives, determine use needs, etc.
    • Scoping: together with other product teams, assess business & technical effort to realize the project, uncover dependencies, establish timelines.
    • Planning: Decide preferred project methodology, write user stories and refine with scrum teams, plan user-testing sessions, etc.
    • Design: together with design team, ideate concepts, build prototypes and validate with users, research hardware needs, get project into development ready state, etc.
    • Development: iterate to build MVP product, lead UAT across-countries, prepare implementation strategy, etc.
    • Rollout: work with expansion & platform team to deploy the solution to the stores, produce product documentation, etc.
    • Support: oversee eventual hypercare, maintain content update, assist in L3 issues resolution, collect user feedback and plan future product iterations, etc.
  • Lead multidisciplinary scrum teams (incl. design, development, QA) and together drive the completion of backlog (projects, epics and stories)
  • Co-lead the agile ceremonies (demo, planning, grooming, retro, etc.) together with the Scrum Master and Business Analyst
  • Make sure that the solutions integrate seamlessly within our ecosystem and always look for potential technical improvements
  • Work closely with global stakeholders (retail, e-com, IT, etc.), local country offices and store teams to ensure that projects are smoothly implemented and embedded within the organization
  • Build up a strong internal network to drive strategic projects
  • Be the main point of contact for new and current vendors and manage relationships accordingly
  • Regularly report overall program status and continuously manage backlog. Anticipate and communicate risks to key stakeholders in IT, different business functions and external vendors
  • Support the expansion of your product portfolio on operational requisites such as issue management, store staff trainings and feedback sessions
  • Be in the field to observe our consumers & store associates, conduct focus groups and organize user testing sessions with prototypes to validate ideas

The Ideal Candidate
  • University degree
  • 3 to 5 years' work experience including 1-2 years in Product or Project Management and/or Business Analyst
  • Proven track-record of managing product teams (comprising of Developers, Designers, QA) ideally in the field of retail solutions.
  • Be a champion of Design Thinking and Agile product development and guide other stakeholders to learn and adopt those methodologies
  • Passion for new technologies and eagerness to drive Omnichannel innovations. Use creativity to solve challenges and be on the lookout to find new ways to improve consumers' shopping experiences
