JOB PURPOSE

A incredible opportunity to for a Senior Manager, Construction to lead the delivery of store construction projects across Europe. Responsible for leading a team to plan and manage store construction projects ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage store construction projects in Europe, including flagships, mainline, airport, concessions and wholesale stores
  • Own and drive each project from coordination of design, through construction to opening and site handover
  • Establish high performing governance and ways of working that results in accelerated project delivery and effective cost management
  • Develop and manage the project plan for each project, ensuring quality communications and updates are provided to key stakeholders, with a tailored approach depending on audience
  • Build and coordinate complex cross-functional teams of internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects against key milestones
  • Work with stakeholders to proactively solve conflict situations through negotiation, open communication and direct influence
  • Drive decision making with teams and senior leadership to move initiatives forwards in a productive way
  • Identify, call out and make recommendations to mitigate any risks/challenges at all stages of the project
  • Cover all site based activities including logistics and site establishment. Conducting site visits and attending site meetings as required and inspections of the works
  • Source, evaluate and negotiate with specialist external consultants, contractors and suppliers
  • Build and manage the project budget across all areas ensuring projects are delivered within budget.


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Strong technical understanding to allow engagement with contractors and development teams. Ability to understand design drawings detail including knowledge and experience of coordinating architecture and engineering disciplines
  • Relevant experience of project delivery (i.e. project leadership, responsibility and accountability). Ability to evaluate and discuss specific technical matters with engineering specialists, structural, architectural, MEP
  • Relevant retail luxury construction experience
  • Strong Commercial acumen with financial and analytical capability. Ability to understand and evaluate BoQ, tenders and bids, change orders maintaining a strong budget focus.
  • Flexibility in dealing with and reacting to changing priorities. Ability to read a GANTT chart and evaluate updates and changes to the timing and schedule of each project. Ability to react and correct activities to maintain the project timing objectives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead a matrix project team, to ensure delivery of agreed milestones
  • Experience of owning multiple projects and a proven track record of delivering against pre-determined requirements in a timely manner. Excellent prioritisation skills
  • Ability to manage consultants, 3rd party providers and local teams to ensure timely completion and maintenance of global standard for all projects
  • Excellent judgement/sensing on contractors capacity, resources planning and allocation
  • Presentation skills
