DESCRIPTION

This position has technical knowledge of garment construction and fabrication and oversees the day to day operations of the Fashion garments station of the Central shop, reporting quality assurance challenges to the central shop manager. The lead Team member is responsible for checking the quality of the workmanship of garments in the production cycle, the prepping of garments for alterations, marking and ripping garments, sewing garments, explaining the work that has to be done, moving garments thru the various stations of the Fashion garment area, locating necessary supplies for the station's team, matching threads and linings to be used in the various alterations tasks, and transporting finished garments to the pressing area.

Under direct supervision of the central shop workroom manager, the lead team member will be involved with the daily planning of the workroom garment production schedule.

The lead team member will ensure each work station has an adequate amount of work throughout the day to maximize the various work station's productivity.
  • Alter when possible, the tedious tasks to avoid bottlenecks in the production flow.
  • Constant transport of garments thru the Fashion garment section.
  • Mark/Rip garments to be altered/match threads and trimmings to be used during the alterations process.
  • Inspect garments during the production process
  • Inform Workroom manager of machinery malfunctions.
  • Conduct final inspection at the press station.
