The Neiman Marcus Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) Product Team is looking for a skilled Enterprise Data-Product Analyst who is passionate about consulting analytics teams on how to identify, acquire & align the right analytic inputs to deliver insights to end customers in a way that maximizes value, accelerates time-to-insight, and ensures connectivity between business users across the Neiman ecosystem. The Enterprise Data-Product Analyst is a relentless advocate for the strategic & sustainable application of data to achieve business value, and demonstrates a strong technical expertise, a "hands-on" learning approach, a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to take responsibility for ensuring successful analytic outcomes.

***Corporate office based in Dallas, TX. Position eligible to be remote***

The Enterprise Data-Product Analyst will be responsible for supporting the strategy of the Neiman Marcus Group and its Advanced Analytics roadmap by delivering business process & data source assessments for proposed use cases on the Advanced Analytics roadmap and translating analytic needs and context to engineering teams. The Enterprise Data-Product Analyst will report to the Enterprise Data-Product Manager supporting Omnichannel Selling & Promotions Analytics. The position will collaborate with Domain-specific Analytics teams, Enterprise Data Engineers and Source System Analysts in order to effectively consult on data & process requirements for the overall Enterprise Data-Product roadmap.

You will be successful by cultivating strong, collaborative relationships with both Analytics Teams within each Domain & our respective Technology and Delivery Leadership in order to empower each to deliver value to our business partners.

Strategy/Planning
  • Gain Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Gain Experience driving projects with cross-functional colleagues
  • Demonstrate Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior product managers and leaders.
  • Manage a cross-functional process for prioritizing, delivering and launching new features

Delivery
  • Conduct Quantitative data analysis and demonstrate critical-thinking skills
  • Conduct Qualitative business process analysis and demonstrate keen eye for gaps in relevant data
  • Participate in user discovery sessions with stakeholders.
  • Understand the needs and priorities of domain-specific analytics leads while working with technology leads, business process owners, and source system owners to understand what is required to deliver the right analytic inputs
  • Be willing to lead and conduct prototyping activities to prove out data modeling approaches
  • Deliver use case assessments and consult Product & Analytic teams on "best" approach
  • Gain Experience of going through a full product lifecycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, enabling prioritization and pre/post-launch execution.
  • Work directly with an agile engineering team to participate in sprints, grooming, other agile ceremonies
  • Identify requirements, design features and groom user stories
  • Experience breaking down features into workable user stories
  • Effectively Translate the analytic & product needs priorities to developers


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Understand the Analytic Roadmaps & Use Cases (key questions, intended value, and target users) provided within each domain
  • For each use case, work with Business Process Owner & Source System leads to identify how process is executed, how users apply the system within the process context, and whether the data generated is being properly captured and validated
  • Identify gaps in data and process alignment, and highlight where these specifically affect the analytic requirements
  • Generate meaningful and reusable documentation of your process and findings & democratize your expertise
  • Prototype Relationships & Models in order to be able to demonstrate potential uses and value
  • Consult & Challenge Analytic & Data-Product leads on "best" approach in terms of ensuring consistency, quality, and proper structure of inputs and be willing to identify connections / potential impacts across different functional roadmaps
  • Deliver use case assessments within specified timelines
  • Translate use case assessments into feature requirements / user stories for delivery
  • Serve as SME on your specific feature and be willing to guide delivery team through analytic needs and priorities
  • Understand production analytic outcomes and learnings and be able to re-calibrate requirements accordingly for improved product and process (MVP mindset)
  • Ensure strong collaborative working relationships between business, analytic, and technology teams during feature delivery - break siloes and (if required) be the connection!


  • 2+ Years of hands-on experience in Data Analytics with desire to grow into more strategic Product-oriented role
    • At minimum has entry level experience in a multi-functional corporate setting - Retail specific experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputable institution with some combination of focus in Retail relevant domains and either Traditional Statistics or Data Analytics background
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced agile digital environment is a must!
  • Prior exposure to agile product development processes is preferred
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in following is a must:
    • Quantitative Analysis & Programming (Python, R, etc.)
    • SQL
    • Data Modeling / Database Design
    • IT Systems Analysis (Exposure to Both Cloud & Legacy Systems)
  • Excellent analytical skills with an understanding of Web Analytics, engagement KPI's and a mature understanding of how to build business cases, measure benefits and communicate results to Sr. Leadership.
  • Superior relationship building with cross-functional teams to deliver results through excellent partnership, communication and negotiating skills
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, communicate effectively, adjust priorities based on business results, and work in a continuously changing environment to meet critical deadlines
  • Strong strategic, creative thinking and decision-making skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to deliver expected results on time
  • Must have extremely strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and develop internal and external relationships; collaborating across multiple business and technology functions, relationship building and consensus building are essential
  • Self-motivated and results oriented individual able to work independently and also work collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, and communicate with technical and non-technical audience
  • Experience and enthusiasm for testing, analyzing, and iterating on Enterprise Data Assets in order to enable Analytic success and improved self-service of insight
  • Deep understanding of, and empathy for users
