Responsibilities & Duties
  • Conduct prompt, thorough, and objective workplace investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace violence, and other violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, provide mediation and advice while ensuring confidentiality and aligning with compliance regulations
  • Conduct virtual interviews with complainant(s), witnesses, and individuals against whom complaints are filed, to gather and analyze the facts associated with the complaints
  • Partner with People Services leaders in conducting investigation to provide counsel and facilitate prompt and effective resolution of workplace concerns
  • Use effective interviewing and documentation techniques and utilize the designated online case management tool for tracking and to maintain required documentation including intake and investigation notes, supporting documents and final reports and/or evidence of action taken
  • Develop effective relationships with People Services Managers to promote positive employee relations throughout the organization to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement
  • Assist in resolving, coaching, and guiding managers through employee relations issues in partnership with People Services Managers to ensure the proper resolution in accordance with NM policies and procedures
  • Analyze employee relations trends with Leadership and help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies
  • Provide training to HR Business Partners as needed to ensure quality investigations are being conducted and consistent and fair application and interpretation of policies and practices

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or minimum 3 years' experience in employee relations, investigations, employment law, and disciplinary actions
  • Knowledge/exposure to/understanding of: Title VII, ADAA, FMLA, ADEA, EPA, federal, state and local laws, statutes, which govern employment policies and practices
  • Experience in the areas of employee relations, internal investigations, conflict resolution, grievance handling, and related matters
  • Excellent consultation skills and the ability to seek out information and work effectively with all levels of employees within the organization
  • Proficiency in Office 365 Suite Word, Excel, Oracle, and the ability to learn new software is needed
  • Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills must be an articulate and persuasive communicator
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
