We are looking for a Data Analytics Engineer II to support of Analytics & Data Science teams and apply appropriate methods to acquire, explore, cleanse, and fuse data from different sources to support their needs. This position requires a combination of business acumen needed to interface directly with key stakeholders to understand the problem along with the skills deliver data to support their needs. You will be in a hands-on role and responsible for data wrangling using our cloud-based data platform.

We are looking for a Data Analytics Engineer II to support of Analytics & Data Science teams and apply appropriate methods to acquire, explore, cleanse, and fuse data from different sources to support their needs. You will be in a hands-on role and responsible for data wrangling using our cloud-based data platform.
What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
- Support our analyst & data science community by curating & joining data sets, flattening hierarchies, and general data wrangling to assist in delivering analytic use cases.
- Provide data analytics services to help clients solve business problems, drive value, and gain strategy and insight from information
- Focus on complex client business problems involving the acquisition, validation, and analysis of data
- Provide review and analysis of new data sources, including identifying data structure and quality issues
- Create views, tables, and queries in the production sandbox environment in support of the analytic use cases
- Provide research and analysis on data sources in support of business requirements - and help both technical and non-technical team members understand what a dataset can (and cannot) support
- Create documentation to support the transition to production engineering delivery once the use cases are proven.
The Skills You Bring (Qualifications)
- BS in Computer Science or related field (Master's in Data Analytics or Computer Science preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in the data and analytics space.
- 3+ years of RDBMS concepts with strong data analysis and SQL experience.
- Must have strong SQL - specifically advanced SQL and optimization of complex queries.
- Ability to wrangle data across RDBMS without losing data integrity in many-to-many joins across numerous tables.
- Great communication skills and business acumen (Understanding of retail data is preferred).
- Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and help design data-centric solutions.
- Ability to work independently to discover data, understand data relationship, and deliver in support of the analytics business team.
- Team player who is willing to collaborate with team mates as needed to meet the deliverable due dates & work with offshore resources (as needed).
- Basic Python Skills
Preferred skills:
- 1+ years of Linux OS command line tools and bash scripting familiarity.
- Working knowledge using Python, Spark, Airflow, Hive, Snowflake and AWS services.
- Knowledge of data engineering aspects within machine learning pipelines (e.g., train/test splitting, scoring process, etc.).
- GitHub or code versioning experience.
