The Senior Tax Analyst will support the corporate tax department primarily in the following areas: federal and state tax compliance projects, quarterly and annual tax provision, tax planning/special projects, annual report and unclaimed property tax compliance, and federal/state audit defense work.
Key Performance Elements:
- Gather and validate information required for federal and state tax compliance and ASC740 tax accounting using tax preparation software. (ONESOURCE, Corptax, Oracle TRCS)
- Analyze and prepare tax calculations necessary for determining the Company's income tax liability and ASC740 tax accounting including calculating book/tax differences and federal/state differences
- Assist with financial statement reporting for the quarterly and annual tax provision results including preparation of tax entries, tax account reconciliations, and supporting workpapers
- Prepare federal and state tax compliance items returns, extensions and estimated tax payments
- Support audit defense efforts with federal and state auditors, including drafting responses to information requests, tax notices or other correspondence.
- Conduct tax research and draft internal memorandums documenting analysis and conclusions
- Provide technical research in support of tax planning and other tax projects as they arise.
- Forecast cash taxes quarterly or more frequently as required
- Analyze and update tax fixed asset reconciliations
- Prepare annual reports and assist with unclaimed property tax returns
- Stay current with tax laws and suggest improvements to accuracy and efficiency of tax processes
- Build relationships within the company to help maintain/gather reliable accounting information
- Other projects and duties as assigned

- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize assignments, and meet critical and established deadlines
- Demonstrated analytical skills with attention to detail and organizational skills

- Learn quickly/implement new procedures, software tools, etc.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and adjust priorities in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Requirements
- Three+ years previous tax experience, preferably two+ years in public accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Masters in Tax preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience with tax software such as Onesource, CorpTax or Oracle TRCS required
- Working knowledge accounting principles, including ASC740
- Experience with Oracle and Hyperion/Essbase
- Exposure to tax research software such as Checkpoint, CCH or Bloomberg BNA
- High proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
