Garment Technologist

OVERVIEW:

Are you our next Garment Technologist? We're looking for someone to join our Garment Technologist team, to help establish and deliver functional excellence through providing high-quality support and expertise in cut & sew and seamless garment construction.

Knowledge of patterns, fitting, sizing, grading, and quality are essential; you will utilise garment manufacturing knowledge to execute the most desirable products most effectively and efficiently. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams in all fit, construction and related technical efforts through development to the production stage.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Technically check and verify all Gymshark products from the region to be as per the requirements in the tech packs issued by GSHQ product developers.
• Hands-on evaluate samples at all stages, identify areas of concerns and discrepancies, rectify, and facilitate problem-solving and corrective actions needed to find the solution (conducting fit sessions/body form sample evaluation inclusive)
• Manage technical standards and fit blocks development and application.
• Provide support on seamless products.
• Support and execute Vendor Sample Certification program through education and training to liaise their understanding of the brand to elevate product & service standards consistency, including factory visit.
• Support and participate in team project management, present to the business partners internal/external as one team to meet business goal/objectives.
• Foresee and resolve any potential production issues, balance a cost-effective production approach and brand's requirements.
• Collaborate with internal sourcing team, QA team and other cross-functional teams through development and production execution.
• Drive for product and process improvement and consistent execution
• Encourage best practice sharing.
• Collaborate and work closely with Merchandiser to ensure development and production lead times are honoured along with quality.
• Knowledge of product costs, production process, critical path and use of PLM or other ERP systems is a must.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Fluent in English written and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and can influence teammates.
• An open mindset to learn new technology - help supervisor to develop new technology.
• Pattern system knowledge - Gerber or Lectra is highly preferable
• University graduated primary subject in Garment manufacturing and technology, Pattern making, Grading, Fitting and Construction is highly preferable.
• Proficient in MS Office - Excel and Word
