Engineering & QA Team

The Engineering and QA Team partners with Product to build and provide new features that promote value. They also maintain the platform, from eliminating bugs to applying security updates.


We're looking for an Engineering Manager to act as a technical leader to mentor, and coach our engineering team members. You will directly contribute to our technical strategy, and help orchestrate its execution. You'll collaborate daily with our on-site and remote technical staff, and outside stakeholders. You are motivated to get the most out of teams by creating an environment where its members grow. You will manage teams responsible for developing an internally owned and operated ERP application designed to meet the needs of our unique marketplace business. This application powers important business functionality like product information, order, and warehouse management.


    • You will lead prioritization of engineering roadmaps and provide mentorship to others
    • You will lead the delivery of complex technical projects
    • You will collaborate with Product Management, UX, and Analytics to provide internal tools and customer-facing web apps
    • You will recruit and retain top talent
    • You will be a technical leader and contributor to projects, including coding, code reviews, and architectural discussions
    • You will help refine our software development and agile processes
    • You care about the happiness and careers of others


    • You have a BA/BS in Computer Science, a related degree, or equivalent practical experience
    • You have 7+ years of professional programming experience
    • You possess senior engineer level proficiency with Ruby on Rails
    • You have 2+ years of technical leadership and people management experience
    • You have strong command of best practices, design patterns, and system architecture tradeoffs
    • You have a pragmatic mindset and aptitude for balancing technical excellence and value delivery
    • You have the ability to understand, diagnose, and effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
    • You possess strong delegation skills
    • You have a desire to do the best thing for the team and the business at all times
    • You have proficiency in Javascript is nice to have
    • You have proficiency in Domain Driven Design or willingness to learn and apply its principles
    • You have experience with Azure, AWS, Heroku, or similar IaaS or PaaS providers
