Who What Wear UK is currently seeking a full-time Shopping Editor to join its award-winning culture. If you’re wildly obsessed with fashion, shopping, and trends then we want to hear from you!

As the Shopping Editor, you will have the natural ability to spot emerging shopping trends, new brands and cult pieces that our readers want to buy. You’ll have top industry knowledge with established connections with influencers, PRs, and experts. In this role, you will exhibit exceptionally strong writing skills and be able to create high-quality content while maintaining a clear understanding of analytics, social media and commercial content. You will thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment and be passionate about the intersection between editorial and revenue. Most importantly, you are confident to be an ambassador for our brand, whether that’s appearing in a branded shoot, social-first video content or attending industry events. 

This position is based in London and will report into the Editor.

Who What Wear is powered by a hybrid remote/ in-person workforce that spans the US and UK. Working here means that you get to build the work environment that best accommodates your unique needs and enables you to bring your best, most productive self to work – from nearly anywhere. Our interviewing and onboarding activities are conducted virtually, as will most of your work, but you should be open to working in person from time to time if necessary.

 

Key Duties:

  • Pitch and write daily high quality editorial and commercial stories with an emphasis on market, revenue and search performance; Analyse and optimise towards traffic goals and affiliate conversion while maintaining on-brand market choices, visuals and tone.
  • Develop market-led editorial franchises that build brand equity on site and social while iterating on top-converting affiliate strategies.
  • Manage campaign-based affiliates editorial inclusions and content on-site, social and other referral channels; provide guidance for social posts and manage newsletter requirements; analyse spending behaviour and engagement to drive results for commercial and editorial opportunities.
  • Work with Affiliate Editor to capitalise on conversion opportunities, such as priority retailer tentpoles, sales, and boosted commission rates.
  • Represent the brand through editor-led shoots and video, commercial content across site and social, as well as at industry events, press days/trips; be a source for quotes in order to promote the Who What Wear name in the UK as needed.
  • Work outside of standard contractual hours, such as fashion week, awards season and/or occasional key weekend news stories; cover for the Branded Content Editor and Affiliate Editor when required.

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 4 years of experience writing for a digital publication; Relationships with PRs, influencers and experts in the fashion industry a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the beauty market and fashion market, from fast-fashion to luxury with an exceptional body of work demonstrating ability to package content
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong visual sensibilities:
  • Sense of urgency and ability to quickly turn an idea into a final product with precision and detail
  • Collaborative spirit with a positive, can-do attitude; ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight daily deadlines with a strong sense of accountability; able to juggle multiple priorities and can adapt quickly to change
  • Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics and consumer affiliate marketing; using insights to inform decision making and grow affiliate revenue; strong ability to utilise data to meet and over-perform on our editorial and revenue goals.
