Neiman Marcus Group has an immediate opening for a Director of Data Science reporting to the Vice President of Customer Insight and Advanced Analytics. This position leads the data science team in providing data science/AI modeling and predictive insights into customer behavior to support decision making relating to customer CLV and segmentation, customer engagement, promotions, styles and marketing programs for all brands both in stores and online.

  • Lead a data science team and partner with an offshore team in exploiting data to promote grow business and customer CLV via machine learning and AI/deep learning modeling
  • Leverage state-of-the-art ML/AI tools and analytical methodologies to develop and implement various types of predictive models, segmentation strategies, optimization algorithms, and advanced analytical approaches with a targeted result of increasing revenue and customer CLV
  • Problem-solve business pain points with data science approaches and present results to senior business stakeholders and align on actions


  • 7+ year's experiences in leading, hiring, and managing a high performing data science team
  • Must have a great track record of aligning data science activities with business strategies and measuring impact on business results
  • Must be highly versed in the latest ML/AI modeling methodologies
  • Exceptional standards for quality and strong attention to detail
  • Well-versed in Python, Machine Learning, AI/Deep learning, Bayesian Statistics, etc
  • Advanced degree (PhD or Masters) in an analytical or technical field (e.g. applied mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, operations research, business, economics
