JOB PURPOSE

This role will support the Corporate Relations Director in handling all issues relating to the external reputation of the business, this will include: regular financial updates, management change, strategic updates, share dealing and reactive issue management. This role requires an experienced communications professional to support the Corporate Relations team in managing the global reputation of Burberry - a FTSE 50 company and the UK's leading global luxury brand.

Working closely with the Corporate Relations Director, the Corporate Communications Manager will help manage and implement the corporate media relations strategy to protect and enhance the company's reputation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

Purpose/Employer brand
  • Work closely with HR and Employee Engagement to deliver integrated communications to support Burberry's employer brand
  • Manage the creation and communication content and storytelling related to Burberry's purpose and values


Diversity and Inclusion
  • Corporate Relations business partner for teams involved in the delivery of Burberry's Diversity and inclusion agenda
  • Be an engine of storytelling on how Burberry is delivering on its Diversity and Inclusion agenda delivering integrated, multichannel communications
  • Manage all of the external communication elements of the mandatory reporting and disclosure related to Burberry's employees, such as the Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap
  • Maintain vigilant monitoring of major public policy issues relating to diversity and inclusion. Develop a deep understanding of the issues and how they relate to Burberry's global business.


Broad Corporate Relations support
  • Contribute to the overall management and delivery of broader corporate publications such as the Annual Report and burberryplc.com
  • Lead on liaison with the Americas communications team on issues and news
  • Contribute to and assist with the management of all financial communications: quarterly financial reporting/AGM/strategy announcements
  • Ad hoc issues and crisis communications


PERSONAL PROFILE

REQUIREMENTS

Relevant sector experience, a proven ability to work well under pressure and create strong relationships, working across teams to deliver best in class communications, complemented by a friendly and flexible approach.

The candidate will be able to develop close media relationships, be a team player, be able to use their initiative and be responsive to contact outside traditional working times.

The candidate will need experience in handling media issues, while displaying an ability to simplify technical language and tell a strong story.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

Corporate Relations experience either in-house or at an agency

Experience of financial calendar and issues management in the UK and globally

Experience of managing communications/design/digital agencies

Passion for the brand and a detailed understanding of the luxury/fashion industry
