About the Role

The Director of Marketing, Commercial Planning & Marketing Strategy is focused on driving strong business results of a high-growth brand through customer acquisition and retention with compelling promotional events. They are a leader who can balance business needs with a strong brand POV.

This role supports the Senior Director of Marketing and is a crucial member of the marketing team at BR Factory. The Senior Marketing Manager of Commercial Planning & Email reports into this role.

What You'll Do

  • Lead commercial planning from pre-season planning, through in-season execution, to hind-sighting, sharing out learnings and insights to drive continuous improvement in the business.
  • Partner cross-functionally across the company, including within the brand (Site Merchandise, Company Planning, Inventory Management, Loyalty, Marketing Effectiveness), within the marketing team (Brand Storytelling, Visual, Creative, Copywriting, Production) and across the organization (Performance Media, Advanced Analytics, Finance, counterparts at Banana Republic Specialty and sister brands such as Gap Outlet).
  • Lead execution of promotional plan across stores and site, bringing ideas to life and test newinitiatives with engaging and cut-through marketing, responsible for creative briefing, strategic input into creative development, and analyzing performance to improve future results
  • Lead complex programs such as Style Cash, Friends & Family, Discovery, Black Friday & Cyber Monday that are crucial to the success of the brand
  • Oversee email and SMS, supporting these key channels to drive strong performance and achieve brand objectives with compelling promotions and engaging brand storytelling
  • Lead the brand marketing budget from end-to-end, including the annual budget process, in-season management across activities and tactical shifts needed to support business goals
  • Partner closely with media team on investment strategyto drive customer acquisition and achieve business objectives with brand and performance media support


  • Provide strategic marketing leadership on fueling business growth through compelling marketing, including promotional planning and media, to achieve customer and financial goals


  • Dig into dataand uncover insights from new tactics to drive continuous improvement of the brand


Who You Are

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing
  • Team player with exceptional communication skills who enjoys building close relationships and working collaborativelyacross all areas of the organization
  • High energy self-starter with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment


  • Balance of analytical approach who enjoys diving into the data and a creative problem solver who pushes the boundaries and tries new approaches
  • Organized and proactive with strong attention to detail and ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work comfortably in ambiguous situations
  • Bachelor's degree, Master of Business Administration preferred
