Senior Footwear Designer

Nanushka is looking for a talented Senior Footwear Designer to join our team.

We’re Budapest-based with a global outlook, with teams in London, New York, and Milan. As a Senior Footwear Designer, you will be working closely with the Head of design to initiate concepts each season that are in line with the brand’s creative vision and Nanushka aesthetic.
Shoes and accessories are a growing category within our business, with high potential for growth, so we are looking for a strong candidate with authentic ideas and a great understanding of luxury goods. They must be organized & detail-oriented, proactive and have an innovative mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all phases of design for all genders and subcategories within the footwear

• Develop and refine seasonal concepts, materials, hardware, and colour palette for footwear collections 
• Propose and select seasonal materials that are in line with the sustainability standards of the brand
• Ensure design integrity and high-quality execution throughout the entire development process from concept to final samples
• Collaborate with the product developer and cross-departmental functions
• Create sketches, colour mockups and technical drawings 
• Follow timeline and process guidelines, with the ability to work on multiple seasons simultaneously
• Manage footwear assistant
• Be proactive during development and support developers with high standard design solutions that are commercially viable
• Balance creative thinking with commercial viability by fulfilling design directional and merchandising brief
• International travels to fabric fairs and potential factory visits with the product developer

Requirements:

• Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years of footwear design experience working for a luxury retailer
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft 
• Ability to sketch both technical drawings and freeform renderings
• Understanding of development from concept through engineering
• Strong knowledge of the material, hardware and footwear construction
