ABOUT THNY CREATIVE STUDIO:

The THNY Creative Studio is a full-service, in-house integrated creative agency, supporting marketing and communications initiatives for Tommy Hilfiger, The Americas.

The Studio Team is responsible for managing all areas of photo/video production, retouching, digital and print production to deliver a coherent and consistent visually branded message across all marketing channels. Marketing channels include, but are not limited to, direct to consumer, email marketing, point of sale, e-commerce, wholesale, social media, influencer marketing, advertising, public relations and events.

ABOUT POSITION:

The Assistant Art Director is responsible for the creative development and execution of all E-Commerce-related imagery, site content, email projects, media deliverables and marketing initiatives. A strong knowledge of fashion E-Commerce, web and mobile web production, digital and imagery pre- and post-production will allow the Assistant Art Director to work with creative teams and internal/external stakeholders to find innovative, yet feasible solutions to E-Commerce marketing initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, concept and oversee the creative execution of all E-Commerce, digital direct-to-consumer vehicles and omni-channel marketing initiatives including but not limited to site refreshes, landing pages, emails and promotions while maintaining brand standards for Tommy Hilfiger North America
  • Lead the creative development from content planning partnering with cross-functional teams, to execution including proposing talent, providing on-set art direction and overseeing post-production for PDP and seasonal photoshoots
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand Marketing initiatives and E-Commerce Merchandising strategies to ensure a holistic approach and consumer journey across all touchpoints
  • Oversee image and video post-production, communicating creative feedback to Studio Producers and external vendors
  • Work closely with the Senior Director Creative Marketing Operations to ensure brand consistency and alignment are being applied to creative on all touchpoints
  • Ability to regionalize Global creative direction, follow agency supplied branding guidelines and coach designers on adhering to such guidelines to meet business needs
  • Participate in new idea sessions and the possible development and execution of those ideas (i.e.: shopping experiences, new sites, marketing campaigns, etc.)
  • Lead creative presentations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Manage team workload and timelines in partnership with supporting Producers
  • Streamlines projects whenever possible and proactively identifies and resolves issues
  • Maintain and manage partnerships with externalAgencies, Stylists, Photographers, Vendors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage testing and data to improve campaign performance and attract new consumers
  • Mentor and inspire junior designers promoting a healthy, positive and collaborative atmosphere
  • Oversee freelance recruitment in close collaboration with the Senior Director Creative Marketing Operations, monitoring freelance hours
  • Internal Contacts: Creative Studio, E-Commerce, Editorial/Copy, Media, Marketing
  • External Contacts:Vendor relationships (web developers, talent agencies, photography studios, retouching, video editing, photographers)
  • Direct report:Graphic Designer
  • Indirect Contacts:Web Developers, Video/Imagery Post-Production Vendors, Photographers, Photo Studios, Talent Agencies, Internal Stakeholders (E-Commerce), Creative Design, Assist in on-boarding of freelance or new employees
  • Ensures projects stay within agreed upon budgets and creatively problem solves with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Determines appropriate vendors to use based on project scope in partnership with Senior Director and Senior Producer. Determines appropriate creative team assignees based on expertise and workload. Prioritizes designer workload based on project schedules and business importance. Prioritizes and manages multiple tasks/projects to meet deadlines. Recommends and continually updates procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Fluid environment with tight deadlines and changing priorities. Willing to work occasional nights and weekends. Must be available for occasional travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an Assistant Art Director capacity in Fashion / Luxury E-Commerce
  • Creative agency experience a plus
  • Fashion retail experience a plus
  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent experience
  • A refined taste level with expert design and typography skills, knowledge of proper kerning, tracking, leading, etc., with an emphasis on digital marketing
  • Experience with photography direction and styling
  • Keen understanding of E-Commerce terminology, site attributes and creative content needs
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects etc.), Sketchapp and Figma
  • Strong web animation and interactive design skills
  • Understanding of HTML/CSS and common coding/programming practices
  • UX/UI design background
  • Experience in photoshoot planning and pre-production, as well as imagery and video post-production for both laydown and on-figure assets
  • Experience working cross-functionally with E-commerce Merchandising and Media teams
  • Effective management of multiple, concurrent projects against aggressive timelines without compromising accuracy or quality
  • Knowledge of maximizing design to achieve production efficiencies
  • An understanding of customer priorities and ability to strive to exceed expectations
  • Ability to take direction, concept and provide multiple design solutions with limited direction
  • Strong knowledge of fashion photography history and trends
  • Ability to think outside the box and awareness to digital trends
  • Extremely detail oriented, well organized, strong problem-solving skills
  • Team player with positive "can-do" attitude
  • Confidence and ability to manage upwards and interact with various levels of senior management
  • Ability to mentor and mange junior designers
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong professional partnerships
