The Senior Planner-by taking direction from the Manager, Planning-- will be responsible for facilitating the growth of our brands, keeping in mind company goals and standards through the retail planning/analysis working in conjunction with sales, planning, marketing and merchandising teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create the OTB aspect of the business preparing forecasts and evaluating performance. Protect TH interests while maximizing profitability and minimizing liabilities
  • Create business plans on the department level by month with the divisional and corporate goals in relation to the top-line targets of their divisional financial plans
  • Manage OTB worksheets, present at monthly business meetings and provide information and strategic initiatives to upper management
  • Review data outside of scope of immediate duties to understand the bigger picture
  • Analyze and prepare hindsight documents to measure past performance to inform future planning & buys
  • Manage the pricing and promotion execution in the IP system
  • Collaborate and partner with Merchandising to formulate pre-season sales/GM/Inventory Flow Objectives that tie to the topline benchmark metrics and present strategies to upper management
  • Partner with Merchandising to build buy worksheets that tie to topline metrics
  • Meet with cross-functional teams to manage the day-to-day business from a pricing/ promotion and inventory/sales/GM perspective as well as make recommendations on strategies to improve the business
  • Act as the 'super user' for JDA usage on team; work with the Manager, Planning on other new tools for the team, acting as a knowledgeable and efficient user and point-person for the tools
  • Provide direct support to the Planning Manager on all planning functions and initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS :
  • 5+ years of merchandise planning experience, preferably in a vertical retail setting; (demand side driven) experience, a plus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Retail math background
  • Analytical skills
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally as well as with upper management
  • Computer Proficiency: Excel, Word, Power Point, SAP; JDA, a plus
  • Manager direct report: Jr. Planner when applicable
  • Responsible to plan to their category's buying and inventory budgets (all RPIs)
  • In conjunction with Manager, Planning, make recommendations for business adjustments based on analysis of current business; be involved with the decision making process of Jr. Planners (when applicable)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines and budgets
  • Creative thinker and effective collaborator with their departmental team
  • Must be able to find the best solutions and develop methods to improve efficiency
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
