As a Sr. Process Excellence Manager (w/m/d), you will be responsible for process development, improvement, implementation and management, and will advise our operations team. You will work in close collaboration with our product team, in order to introduce improvements to operator tools. You seek exchange on best practices from other areas of the business (e.g. warehouse operations or material flow technology) and evaluate their introduction to Zalando Premium Logistics (ZPL) operations. The successful completion of your projects and initiatives will set the ZPL network up for higher process quality and throughput, and lays the foundation to significant future network scaling activities.

You will lead a small expert team, starting with one Process Excellence Engineer.

The functional focus areas in this role will include but are not limited to material handling and automation technology, loading and unloading, and yard traffic management.

  • You'll identify improvement areas and align their priorities with operations, product and business stakeholders

The role will be based in ZPL’s (Zalando Premium Logistics) largest last-mile delivery station in Berlin and will involve frequent travel to other 3PL logistics sites in our European network.
  • You have University degree in business, engineering or logistics. Previous relevant professional experience and problem solving skills in logistics and operational issues
  • You have a good understanding of logistics and supply chains. Knowledge of the last mile environment is a plus
    Proven competency in lean methods, problem solving and cross-functional project management. Six sigma black belt or similar qualification is a plus
  • You have previous relevant experience leading cross-functional project teams and/or small teams
    Initiative, good judgment, collaboration, understanding of deadlines and competence to work on multiple tasks and under pressure until completion
  • You bring excellent communication skills in German, as it will be needed to work on the sites, and you can fluently communicate in English, as our company language.
