JOB SUMMARY

Lead Merchandising Department by identifying product opportunities and ensuring a successful product mix to support the total LAPOINTE business and growth.  Work cross functionally with Design, Development, Production, Sales and Marketing to take collection from a planning stage to execution.  Report to the Vice President of Merch, Design, and Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute all seasonal line plans to support product strategies as well as meet financial guidelines.

Build effective partnerships with Design, Development, Production, Sales and Marketing teams to drive results.

Maintain a deep understanding of overall business – performance, product/style, accounts, regions – identify challenges and opportunities based on sales results and competitive landscape.

Continuously conduct market research to gain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape.

Provide competitor analysis including product mixes and price strategy structure

Research the international markets trends, needs, competitor, and price strategies to detect future business opportunities

Partner with the design team to ensure optimal product mixes based on analytics, customer feedback and sales.

Oversee seasonal style set ups and system maintenance

Oversee Development and Sales Line Sheets creation as well as maintenance

Oversee the collection changes from development to Production in order to communicate changes across teams

Set up various seasonal working tools that are utilized across teams Manage pricing in order to achieve profit margins

Analyze performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.

Monitor fabric inventory and work with VP of Merch, Design and Development on exclusive capsules to decrease fabric inventory and promote circularity

Support the VP of Merch, Design and Development in day-to-day duties as well as seasonal projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in business or Fashion Merchandising

Minimum 10 years’ experience in Fashion Merchandising, plus if in Luxury Market

Thorough knowledge of Luxury & Contemporary Market Trends

Detailed knowledge of product development and production process

Excellent communication skills, ability to engage and influence internally and externally

Strong verbal and analytical skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines concurrently

Proficient in Microsoft office, photoshop, InDesign and ERP systems
