Job Overview:
The Senior Data Analyst will work in Bloomingdales' Data & Analytics department to build reporting and generate insights for our business stakeholders that allow them to assess the success of and make improvements to marketing tactics and site performance. The senior data analyst will collaborate with many teams across every function of the business and will build key reporting & dashboards to drive business decisions and key operational processes. They will also be expected to independently own and manage the analytics for different areas of the business, acting as the subject matter expert in these functions and leading other analysts in their day-to-day needs. This role will combine a strong set of technical and leadership skills with a high level of business strategy acumen and collaborative communication to deliver insights that allow our stakeholders to make informed and dynamic business decisions.

Essential Functions:
- Thought leader in data analytics who can help the business define their business problem and requirements, create solutions to address it, and plan and execute the implementation
- Cross-communicate between analysts and business teams, including senior leaders
- Think logically toward problem solving with keen insights for business solutions and the analytical steps required to execute them through dashboards and reports
- Work with Data Engineering team as required to implement data pipelines and tools to ensure efficient and seamless execution of analytics
- Community builder to foster data and analytics culture and to support data-driven thinking and discussions across priority analytics use case
- Be entrepreneurial, agile, and results-oriented
- Support businesses in data & analytics capability building, and embody data-driven culture at Macy's
- Support user adoption of analytical tools and methods and embrace data in strategic business decisions
- Collaborate, train, teach and lead other analysts in your areas of expertise, and be open to learning about every area of the business
- Mentoring and growing talent, as well as hiring, will be a critical part of the job
- Own and manage relationships with various groups of stakeholders and become the face of the data and analytics team for them
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred; engineering, business, finance, data science, computer science, or other relevant fields of study encouraged
- Demonstrated track record of proficiency working in advanced analytics (3-5 years minimum)
- SQL and Python experience
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker
- Experience with web reporting tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics
- Ability to conduct qualitative market research and perform qualitative analysis, identify trends and patterns in the data and tell a compelling story through visualization and presentation
- Experience in leveraging data cleaning, transformation, analytics and reporting from large data sets to support use cases and drive business value
- Experience with Cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS) and big data processing technologies (Redshift, Big Query) is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills, especially when it comes to requirements gathering, communicating with stakeholders, and summarizing and presenting analysis
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
Physical Requirements:
- Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
- Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
