FIGS is looking for an exceptional Vice President of Communications to develop and implement a comprehensive and authentic communications strategy. The ideal candidate is an intellectually curious, polished, and dynamic communications professional. The VP of Communications should be both an action-oriented strategist and a self-starter. They will serve as one of our representatives of the FIGS brand in the world for all external communications. They will also take an active role in learning about business areas that could be powerful stories that we want to share with the world. They will bring our product, culture, and team's accomplishments to life. This role will report directly to the Co-CEO.

What you'll do:
  • Develop and execute strategic communications initiatives to increase awareness of FIGS.
  • Drive a comprehensive PR program, including research, planning, development, and measurement.
  • Lead the development of messaging and collateral (press releases, pitches, briefings, etc.).
  • Oversee day-to-day media relations efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including core Marketing team members, to organize amplification of key messages across channels.
  • Manage and coordinate key projects, plans, calendars, research, and insights with other teams, and serve as a convener and resource for other teams and leaders.
  • Develop and pursue opportunities to position FIGS and its team members as thought leaders in key areas, including media profiles, high-impact speaking engagements, and op-eds.
  • ​​Create a cadence of regular internal communications across various channels so that FIGS team members are informed and engaged and have the information needed to work at their best.

Requirements
  • 10+ years experience in Corporate Communications, agency, or in-house, with a heavy emphasis on proactive media relations and a preference for tech/start-up/apparel space.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic communications plans and demonstrate successful outcomes.
  • Strong media relations skills, a deep network of media contacts, and impeccable copywriting and editing skills.
  • Superior presentation and advisory skills, with clear, concise thinking and confidence in delivering feedback to senior leaders on communications strategy in a timely fashion.
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
