Shape the future of Gifting and Gift Cards: You identify customer problems related to gifting, define compelling visions, design innovative solutions and deliver coherent, step-changing experiences across the whole customer journey together with Engineering, Product Management and Analytics.

Foster collaboration across disciplines: You craft narratives that energize the team and create a safe work environment where team members feel engaged around a common objective and empowered to create impact; you involve stakeholders to orchestrate customer experience improvements and innovations.

Start and lead a design team: As a Design Manager in the Gifting and Gift Cards Program you will hire and lead the design team (a full-time experienced designer and occasional project staff as need be), supporting them in the day to day and in their development journey at Zalando.

Partner across the design community: You further the design culture and shape ways of working within the Gifting and Gift Cards Program; you share your experience and expertise with the wider Zalando design community consisting of well over 200 practitioners as well as beyond Zalando.
Empathy: You have the mindsets and methodologies to understand your customers and are inspired to dive deep to solve meaningful problems that make them feel valued; you also understand and meaningfully engage stakeholders and are comfortable with work touching many different teams.

Leadership: You are a seasoned design professional and likely led people before; you can support your team through moments of ambiguity and create a safe and inclusive environment in which people perform at their personal and collective best.

Craft: You can roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty in the design craft, choreographing delightful solutions across devices and throughout the customer journey; to land this role you will share raw artifacts from defining design strategy and executing tactically in complex environments.

Experimentation: You take a forward-looking generative approach and make design decisions based on evidence; you guide your team to solve problems across disciplines; you know when to work iteratively and when to take bold bets.

Storytelling: You give structure to new challenges and create clarity through communication within the team and across the organization; you bring team members and stakeholders along by telling compelling stories and communicating a clear customer experience vision.
