Couture and Bridal Machinist

Vivienne Westwood Limited is looking for an experienced Couture and Bridal Machinist to join the team at our Head Office in London.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Working closely with designers and pattern cutters to create finished products
• Experienced in making first samples with high end luxury finishing techniques and sewing skills, including hand sewing, lace manipulation, applique, sewing with sequins, crystals and embroideries.
• Working with delicate fabrics such as silks, chiffons, georgettes, organza and tulle.
• Ability to read and interpret patterns and accurately work with measurements
• Understanding of garment design and the construction of corsetry is a necessity.

CRITERIA

• Luxury experience is absolutely essential; the ideal candidate should have experience working with a couture brand.
• Excellent communication skills are a must, also able to work within a small team.
• The candidate must be positive and proactive with their work attitude, and remain calm under press, whilst being available to work overtime during busy periods.
• A minimum of 5 years’ work experience, references are essential.
