As a Community Manager you are responsible for connecting the overall company-wide product design community as well as sub-communities. This includes deeply understanding their needs to improve satisfaction and retention. You will be working closely with design management and you will be leading the conversation on community topics. It is not a Social Media role, focus lays on our community.

  • Onboard, support and empower members of the Product Design Community
  • Develop strategies, concepts and tools to increase engagement and interaction with our community
  • Develop plans for community launch, activation and growth
  • Oversee community programs from discovery, definition, design to delivery and beyond
  • Explore and implement opportunities to engage with our community in innovative ways
  • Identify opportunities and support design leadership to contribute to the community
  • Monitor the health and performance of our community
  • Provide guidelines and best practices around employee engagement

  • Monitor community activity and proactively engage in the community conversation, providing information and support
  • Monitor community adoption; ensure that the right support is given at all times
  • Support and share new content, new members, new groups and new topics; specifically profile, elevate and expose key members and newly participating members
  • Market the growing value of our design communities' content by highlighting their successes and building them up to become thought-leaders within and outside of Zalando
  • A degree in a field such as Event Management, Marketing, Social Media, PR, Communication Science or Community Management
  • Ideally you have experience in community management, either by working in the industry or by leading communities, meetups or conferences
  • You have relevant work experience in an international and multicultural environment with excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English
  • Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and the ability to spot upcoming trends
  • While a technical background is not required, you are excited by technology and understand the tech and design landscape
  • You are energetic and proactive, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal in English
  • You are a self-starter with lots of initiative and creativity
  • You have an ability to thoroughly research opportunities and prioritize them based on impact
  • You are a world-class individual contributor
  • Organizational, conceptual, and creative skills and, hands-on mentality and thriving to find the best solution in the shortest possible time, open to continuous change
