The Buyer Relations Specialist role engages, develops, cultivates, and maintains strong relationships internally and with sourcing buyers, to secure attendance at Informa Fashion physical and digital trade events. This role focuses on maintaining and strengthening buyer relationships while identifying new targets. Working with the Event Director, Commercial President, and Brand Teams, they will educate and recruit buyers to attend, build customer relationships, and supports sales, marketing, and PR regarding buyer-specific information.

 

Role Accountability and Duties:

Conducts calls, emails, virtual and in-person meetings of retention attendee and buyer accounts to engage them in our events, working to penetrate call campaigns to hit event registration goals.

Strengthen and maintain relationships with retention buyers within the assigned tier or segment.

Proactive relationship building with key retention buyers via phone, email, video conference, and face to face. Responds to buyer inquiries via in-person or virtual meetings, phone, and email; researches and resolves all questions.

Qualifies prospective attendees as buyers and helps them complete the registration process to attend the events.

Responsible for buyer and attendee customer service for the entire physical and digital events, including assisting buyers with their needs, preparing them for the event, offering on-site support, customer service, and conducting post-show follow-up.

Promotes the overall concept, value, and offerings of our events; responsible for hitting physical and digital event registration goals.

Responsible for maintaining retention customers and establishes solutions to retain retention buyers and attendees that are planning not to return.

Maintains Salesforce customer account database for accuracy and exceptional notes; conducts data clean-up each show cycle and on-going maintenance per policies; clean the buyer database on an ongoing basis and help segment buyer data to understand the attendee opportunity and be able to reach market appropriately.

Assists Buyer Relations Specialist to track, update, and analyze data regarding buyers in our database; helps to provide ongoing buyer information for the sales team including key buyer lists and relevant content about new and returning buyers; assists to prepare reports as requested.

Assists team to coordinate on-site show set-up and execution as needed; assists with onsite buyer programs and events as required.

Assists with matchmaking buyer requests with exhibitors.

Partner with sales to get the appropriate matches for buyers.

What you bring to the team:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, fashion buying/merchandising or equivalent experience 2-4 years working for a fashion sourcing event or for fashion brand production.

Understanding, knowledge, and interest in the fashion industry and sourcing supply chain.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Sales or related experience preferred.

Strong customer service approach.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Detail-oriented, creative, and innovative thinker.

Exceptional time management skills.

Self-starter who knows how to work in a team environment.

Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Salesforce is a plus.
