As Creative Director Brand Design (B2B2C), you will be responsible for Zalando’s visual brand identity towards both our existing as well as our prospective fashion, lifestyle, beauty, and sports partners. Your goal will be to create a coherent, delightful experience across our business propositions that empowers them to be successful in digital, and drive awareness, growth, and brand love for Zalando. Acting as Zalando’s brand ambassador, you will further be responsible for systemizing our visual language in close collaboration with marketing and product design, and support in evolving our digital design system to enable scalable implementation across touchpoints and services.

You will lead the Creative Team (1-2 direct reports) that acts as an in-house creative excellence department and report directly to the Head of Partner Communications. You will work closely with our internal stakeholders (commercial, marketing, communication, and product design teams) as well as our external agencies and act as the creative consultant for applied brand design on a global level. Your brand-guardianship covers creative management of brand design and derived principles delivered within 360° campaigns (ATL/ BTL), communication assets, and user interfaces, closely aligned with our marketing analytics and user experience insights. Further, you will manage global design-agency creative, and be responsible for the development of our in-house creative team.

  • Develop, implement, maintain and innovate the visual brand identity across various Zalando B2B2C propositions and derive style guides to enable internal and external stakeholders to live up to our brand
  • Lead and mentor a team of creatives to develop and execute outstanding B2B2C concepts and solutions (e.g., campaigns, creative assets, templates)
  • Actively shape B2B2C brand marketing and agency briefings, challenge existing or provide alternate recommendations based on our brand design and communication strategy
  • Acquire and share deep market & user insights on current behavioral and design trends, making this knowledge accessible to others in the company
  • Collaborate and foster strong relationships across brand, marketing, communications, and product design throughout the company to ensure a coherent brand experience across the business and its various audiences
  • 8+ years of experience working in brand management for blue chips and agile tech companies in agencies and/or on the company side (experience in the fashion/ lifestyle/ beauty/ sports industry is a plus); at least 2 years of experience, leading, inspiring, and mentoring creative/ design teams
  • Profound knowledge in building and evolving dynamic visual brand identities based on business requirements (brand strategy, brand architecture)
  • Strategic thinker with an empathetic hands-on, get things done mentality; strong storytelling and presentation skills (graphic design and art direction)
  • Comprehensive knowledge in state-of-the-art software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Webflow, Google Suite…) and experience with web technology and coding (e.g., HTML, CSS, …)
  • Ability to share a portfolio that showcases B2B(2C) references in brand design and creative direction
