SUMMARY

The individual in this position focuses on print design, scale sizing and original coloring of all custom Mumu prints. Categories including main collection, bridal, secret surprise, collaborations, denim, kids & swim. This role has a hybrid schedule and may work approximately 2 days remotely, each week.  Candidates must be within commuting distance of the Mumu HQ in Downtown Los Angeles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates seasonal kick of boards by gathering all print direction and inspiration from the creative directors
  • Works independently to edit all purchased prints per creative designers’ direction in order to achieve final result. This includes adding graphic elements using illustrator and photo shop, re-coloring and re-sizing of print and print repeats
  • Organizes and pulls pantone chip selection alongside creative designers
  • Approves all final edits with creative directors
  • Packages all files with all necessary elements for initial send out to print vendors
  • Tracks print development with outside vendors to ensure smooth development and consistent timelines in conjunction with internal calendar
  • Daily communication with vendors regarding improvements and problem solving regarding printing techniques
  • Receives and organizes all print strike offs
  • Sets weekly meetings to review all print strike offs with creative directors
  • Responsible for relaying print revisions to the vendor after strike-off reviews
  • Responsible for seasonal research and development in regards to fabric, prints and colors via WGSN and outside vendor meetings
  • Directs and coordinates all print vendor meetings with internal creative team
  • Sources vintage textiles and prints for seasonal inspiration
  • Creates exclusive and original artwork from scratch as needed
  • Follows design calendar to ensure all development timelines are met in regards to strike off approvals
  • Manages and updates internal print tracker or WIP on a daily basis in order to update creatives on weekly progress
  • Works independently with cross-functional teams including the raw materials team for proper execution of production finished goods
  • Works closely with the raw materials developer to ensure proper printing techniques
  • Creates artwork specification sheets for vendors to follow as guidelines
  • Responsible for creating the digital print board each season and distributing to team members
  • Updates tangible in-house print boards in conjunction with raw materials developer weekly
  • Directs the execution of print placements by working with pattern teams to ensure proper execution per style
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed.
  • Familiar and comfortable working in Adobe Suites Apps- specifically Illustrator
  • Must be able to execute CAD illustrations in Adobe Illustrator
  • PC literate with intermediate understanding and skills in using keyboard and Microsoft office products
  • Candidate must be highly organized with ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency and be a team player
  • Must have experience in measuring garments and garment construction

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  •  Minimum 7-10 years experience working as an in-house print designer
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in graphic or print design
  • Dynamic analytical, problem solving and project management abilities- must be a self starter
  • Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
  • Knowledge with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge with Adobe applications- Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Self-starter
