THE OPPORTUNITY

POSITION SUMMARY

The Neiman Marcus Product Management Team is looking for a skilled Digital Product Director for Bergdorf Goodman who is passionate about advocating for the customer, has excellent product instincts, a passion for creating great experiences, a data-centric mindset, agile thinking, and the willingness to challenge the status quo.

The Product Director will be responsible for driving the strategy of the Bergdorf Goodman brand with a narrower focus on international growth and digital activation of the customer strategy.
This role will work cross-functionally with internal teams as well as our partners at Farfetch Platform Solutions (FPS).

Neiman Marcus Group and its digital and technology roadmap by delivering omnichannel experience for our customers on web as well as iOS and Android Apps, supporting the Head of Bergdorf Goodman Product in the development of product strategy and prioritization of the product roadmap. The position will collaborate with business partners, subject matter experts, engineers, and vendor partners to establish business and technical requirements & stories ensuring delivery of new features and functionality, as well as optimizations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Drive topline growth through international market expansion and creating relevant, localized experiences in key locales.
  • Amplify customer strategy working in close alignment with audience management, CRM and lifecycle marketing.
  • Partner with other NMG and BG Product teams to define our roadmap, ROI, feature/function definition, experience design, and KPI's.
    • Define business benefits feature sets, as well as conduct product research to develop product strategy.


  • Deliver the BG roadmap within time, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Continuously drive towards an MVP and MLP roll-out.
  • Lead product optimization post-launch, incorporating analytics, customer feedback, and market opportunities to (re)prioritize the roadmap
  • Manage team of Product Managers and Product Analysts for a defined product portfolio including individual performance management as well as management of business results.
    • Foster individual and team development to improve the product practice for Neiman Marcus Group
    • Develop team culture and deepen leadership experience for members of the Product Organization Manage performance of direct reports and ensure the quality of the team's products meets NMG standards
    • Help facilitate awareness and support of business strategies and initiatives.
    • Supports and provides direction to the product managers in determining the impact of new functionality to existing business processes and system functionality.
    • Ensures the team writes stories (requirements) of sufficient quality in order to provide a solid foundation for realizing the benefits of the project.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders critical to the delivery of the product portfolio Prioritize portfolio investment to maximize benefit/return to customers/company based on NMG strategy.
  • Manage vendor and strategic partners to help solve customer and business problems and collaborate to drive for new innovations in products and services that best meet business needs and strategy
  • Support successful adoption and usage of the key branded product by:
    • Partnering with Site Operations and support teams to triage and prioritize critical product issues.
    • Signing off on Product Quality for Feature Releases.
    • Proactively identifying issues and partnering with Site Operations/Support and peer Agile teams to provide timely resolutions


QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ Years of experience with 3+ years' experience managing teams and direct reports in Product, Customer Experience, User Experience Design, and/or Software delivery.
    • Experience at e-commerce brands, top-tier consulting firms, or investment banks useful but not required
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a reputable institution.
  • Passion for working in a fast pace agile digital environment is a must! Retail ecommerce experience or digital marketing experience required. Specific experience in Mobile Apps space
  • Relevant agile software development and Product Manager experience with proven track record of delivering successful customer facing site features and improvements.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent analytical skills with an understanding of Web Analytics, engagement KPI's and a mature understanding of how to build business cases, measure benefits and communicate results to Sr. Leadership.
  • Superior relationship building with cross-functional teams to deliver results through excellent partnership, communication and negotiating skills
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, communicate effectively, adjust priorities based on business results, and work in a continuously changing environment to meet critical deadlines
  • Highly motivated to be develop teams and manage ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Experience conceptualizing, evaluating and negotiating 3rd party strategic partnerships
  • Delivered quantifiable results through a product team on multiple occasions
  • Strong strategic, creative thinking and decision-making skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to deliver expected results on time
  • Must have extremely strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and develop internal and external relationships; collaborating across multiple business and technology functions, relationship building and consensus building are essential
  • Self-motivated and results oriented individual able to work independently and also work collaboratively with a team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization, and communicate with technical and non-technical audience
  • Experience and enthusiasm for testing, analyzing, and iterating on bold growth tactics for web & mobile commerce.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate teams on key initiatives and work cross-functionally in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Deep understanding of, and empathy for users.
