Job Overview

Bloomingdale's is seeking a Director of Omnichannel Strategy & Technology who will play a key role in developing our omnichannel technology roadmap with cross-functional Macy's Inc. teams to evolve our customer and colleague experience across the customer journey and platforms-web, app and in-store. Reporting directly to SVP of Customer & Revenue Growth, this Director will interface directly with all levels of Macy's Inc. and work closely with Bloomingdale's stakeholders and each of the Macy's Inc. Product Management teams to develop a strong understanding of our customers' needs, our strategy and business objectives to influence the development of the dual brand technology roadmaps and champion solutions that deliver value for the enterprise. Strong candidates should be highly collaborative with a proven track record of delivery, working with and influencing senior executives in a cross-functional context and using both quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains the broader roadmap for Bloomingdale's across Digital, Stores and Technology Product Management Teams, partnering to influence development and ensure clear and thoughtful prioritization
  • Serves as the key Bloomingdale's technology strategist for our enterprise product and technology partners and leverages expertise of Bloomingdale's SMEs to drive engagement, alignment and ensure quick and effective decision making
  • Manages and optimizes CRG & organization's minimal enhancement budget and works cross-functionally to deploy capital to support priorities-supporting leadership with resource and financial tracking. Raises risks, issues and helps ensure decisions are made in a timely manner.
  • Leads Selling System and Technology team to support Bloomingdale's specific technology support needs and deployments
  • Through partnership with Bloomingdale's key stakeholders across functions, identifies new/innovative opportunities and develops business case/ROI for projects including:
    • Solicits input from a variety of internal stakeholders, and external resources
    • Conducts industry analysis (identifying market trends)
    • Understands the competitive landscape (identifying best practices through competitive analysis)
    • Justifies development initiatives and expenditures, based on financial modeling
    • Analyzes existing Bloomingdale's data, and conducting user research/testing
    • Evaluates technologies (internal capabilities, and vendor offerings)
    • If necessary, coordinates with outside vendors and partners to ensure their work is delivered on time and on scope

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university required.
  • 6-8+ years of relevant work experience leading teams in retail and/or e-commerce; preferred but not required, experience working with product management teams leveraging agile ceremonies.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work, influence and gain consensus across functional lines and at many levels. Manage conflict and resolve issues when the occur
  • Strong collaboration and relationship orientation: Ability to build partnerships with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage smarter decision-making across our organization. Collaboration skills are critical.
