Senior Product Manager - Pricing Measurement

As a Senior/Principal Product Manager "Pricing Measurement'' you will build large scale measurement systems enabling Zalando's commercial decisions.

Pricing is a key lever to steer Zalando's ₠10+bn in GMV, and to improve our platform economics. Better pricing has a significant economic impact. Here, you can make a real difference with advanced econometric and causal analysis.

We drive algorithmic pricing decisions for 500K products across 20+ countries every day: Deep-learning-based forecasting methods are combined with rigorous demand modelling and off-policy learning to find optimal prices under business constraints.

In this role, you will help us estimate the incremental and counterfactual response of customers to Zalando's pricing decisions. You will learn about our pricing systems and drive high-exposure initiatives around experimentation and observational causal inference to measure our prices' impact on key metrics.

  • Define the purpose as well as the strategic product roadmap for measurement and experimentation products so we generate learnings in the presence of network effects, long-term dependencies, and dynamic algorithmic systems.
  • Guide our research agenda for understanding customer proxy events as early indicators for incremental CLV, moving beyond short-term decision-making.
  • Liaise with our commercial stakeholders, connecting business needs with technological and research capabilities. Understand Zalando's commercial strategy, and connect our data science investments to it.
  • Apply product development methodology and work backwards from precisely identified problem statements within a cross-functional team set-up.
  • Contribute to the wider Product Management organisation within Zalando and define the principles of future ways of working.

  • Strong team player collaborating well in a cross-functional team set-up.
  • Experience building technical products and integrating them into a wider decision making system.
  • 4+ years experience within product management.
  • Strong quantitative educational background demonstrated by a degree in economics, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar.
  • Strong foundation in advanced experiment design and observational causal inference is a plus.
