Vivienne Westwood Ltd is currently looking for an experienced Pattern Cutter to support the AK and Mainline teams in our studio located in Battersea, London.
Job Description
- Development of sampling and production pattern as well as Showpieces, Liaising personally with designers during fittings (AK) providing input for experimental garment ideas.
- Developing new pattern:
-
- Manual pattern cutting
- digital pattern cutting using Lectra (Mdaris and Diamino)
- creating new patterns, working on already existing patterns, alterations, etc.
- digitizing paper pattern
- suggesting finishing solutions

- finalising production pattern, including technical information
- Preparing tiles (cutting and sewing toiles, doing alterations if necessary)
- suggesting finishing solutions
- grading, if necessary
- Digitizing patterns from the pattern archives of AK and VW – organising and preservation of the pattern archives in cooperation with the garments archive
- Printing and providing patterns for further development for the design departments
- Communication with production company/digital pattern cutter (exchanging pattern, problem solving etc.)
- Communication with Lectra in regards to hard- and software maintenance
- Maintaining the pattern archive (paper and digital)
- Working collaboratively with other pattern cutters, tailors, cutters
- Problem solving with machinists to establish best method of construction for experimental garments
- Maintaining a high level of quality control for pattern and garments within the studio and at a production level.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and extended hours leading up to fashion shows
- Attending Production fittings
Skills / Experience
- Experience in pattern cutting
- Use of Lectra Modaris
- Use of Clo3D
- Fashion related studies
