The Department & Team 

The Technical Development team develops and delivers both innovative and sustainable products for Tommy Jeans. Responsible for the end to end technical development of the product, from initial concept through to physical garments, pioneering high quality & product excellence, as well as delivering on company & divisional KPI’s.  

Closely partnering with a number of stakeholders, from PD, design & merchandising, through to supply value chain, & global teams this role plays an intricate part in delivering the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Highly skilled, accurate and knowledgeable within pattern cutting, development & fitting of Denim & woven pants.

  • Responsible for the control and maintenance of a consistent block library and driving any seasonal block refresh amendments across the supply base.

  • Responsible for creating and controlling sample specs from initial concept sketch to bulk production.

  • Collaborate closely with designer and product developer to interpret sketches & styling, collection overview and achieve shared deadlines and margins.

  • Working closely with Merchandising to understand the market needs and how best to interpret and implement these requested within the collection.

  • Execute & collaborate on digitization of product & 3D process throughout product lifecycle (from launch to sell in) alongside company & divisional roadmap & targets, in collaboration w/ the Digitalization Center of Excellence 

  • Liaising with PVH overseas offices and collaborating with sourcing, Central Quality Assurance regarding any quality issues.

  • Sample tracking and in-house sample management.

  • Engage in ad hoc business projects related to product, process and business requirements 

  • Handling of daily issues in end to end technical development process; including spec development, fitting, vendor support & maintaining quality standards.

  • Adhere to critical path, both internally and externally to support the development and production of the collection achieving on time for delivery at all stages of the process.

  • Cross functional partnership to ensure correct product is delivered in accordance to design, merchandising, technical and quality requirements

  • Drive fit meetings including capturing comments, changes & communicating these internally and externally.

  • Work closely with product managers & internal teams to capture, troubleshoot & resolve any product related risks during the development process.

  • Work within our PLM system to ensure data integrity.

  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets & departmental spreadsheets.

  • Analyse markets and competitors

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in pattern development of denim & wovens.

  • Denim wash and shrinkage understanding is a must

  • Higher education certificate in fashion technology/garment technology/pattern cutting

  • A strong understanding of grading

  • Gerber literate

  • Understanding of the following software is advantageous: PLM, 3D Software such as Browzwear /Gerber 3D & Adobe suit.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills

  • Strong analytical skills, eye for detail & silhouette, technical fit and construction.

  • Self-driven, pragmatic and business mind set 

  • Is able to work in a highly productive, demanding environment with a practical and proactive mentality

  • Embodies PVH values of individuality, passion, accountability, partnership & integrity

  • Must have strong organization and communication skills

  • Ability to travel internationally

  • Good command of written & spoken English
