JOB PURPOSE

  • To manage the day to day liquidity of the Group.
  • To support Burberry Business Services in Leeds and Hong Kong with day to day banking
  • To act as the back office on Group Treasury transactions
  • To monitor and report changes in the Group's banks' credit ratings on a day to day basis


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completing the daily cash management process, establishing the Group's cash position cross the cash pools
  • Borrowing/investing/transferring cash as needed to bring bank balances in line with requirements
  • Ensuring all deals dealt by Treasury are logged in the Treasury Management System and confirmed with the banks on the day of trade
  • Arrange settlement of all Treasury transactions including money market and FX deals, inter-company loans, some mid-month settlement transfers, dividends/equity injections and ad hoc payments as necessary
  • Reconcile the previous day's cash forecast position to actual and provide variance explanations where appropriate
  • Support Burberry Business Services in Leeds and Hong Kong on cash management issues and day to day banking queries
  • Support all month end procedures to support the closing reporting/accounting requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute daily and weekly reporting of cash balances
  • Daily monitoring of counterparty limits and changes to credit ratings of banking partners.
  • Reporting changes in ratings and breaches of counterparty limits to the Group Treasurer and Group Treasury Controller when necessary
  • Maintenance of the Group's bank accounts including opening and closures of accounts
  • Ensure Treasury records of bank accounts are complete and accurate on an ongoing basis
  • Administration of bank account mandates for the Group including processing updates
  • Point of contact for the auditors for bank confirmation letters for the Group and local audits
  • Process payments for the Burberry Foundation
  • As part of the training for this role, the successful candidate will be required to enrol onto a relevant Apprenticeship Scheme or an equivalent training scheme with a suitable training provider such as the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT), organised by Burberry. The timing of the training is to be discussed but is expected to begin within the first year in the role.


PERSONAL PROFILE

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Maths and English GCSE and studied to A level.
  • Experience of working in a multi-national corporate
  • Experience in working in a Finance Team or Treasury department an advantage

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, able to work in fast-paced, changeable environment, willing to learn
  • Good team player
  • Works with close attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office skills
