This role covers the management of Samsøe Samsøe Knitwear line for both the Womenswear and the Menswear collection, form the creative design start-up, through the sourcing and development process, until production stage.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

  • Responsible Designer for the Knitwear collections on both Womenswear and Menswear
  • Manage the critical path for the entire development process to ensure deadlines for raw materials, samples, fittings, and prices are met.
  • Close dialog with pattern design, production team and sales team
  • Responsible for working towards the Brand Sustainability Goals for the knitwear collection
  • General design related task within the department

TASKS

  • Designing 4 yearly collection and express styles
  • Being updated on trends and new tendencies and in general what is going on in the marked
  • Experience in knitwear design for both Womenswear and Menswear
  • International experience is appreciated, but not a requirement
  • Yunique PLM system knowledge is appreciated, but not mandatory
  • Inspiration and supplier trips, research for new yarns, stitches, details and silhouettes
  • Alignment within each design department (Women & Men) and cross alignment between the two
  • Participate in design trend workshop, input for mood boards, prints and colors
  • Source yarns, sketch in Adobe Illustrator, allocate colors and create knit stitching instructions
  •  Participate in all development meeting along with Sales & Retail Team: Kick Off, Preview, Curating, Stop-and-Go and final Sales Meeting
  • Handover yarn, stitches and trimmings to Production team
  • Work closesly with buyers for sourcing, pricing and development
  • Follow up on target prices and Matrix Structure  
  • Participate in Price and Supplier Settlement Meeting with Production Team
  • Create all style setups in Yunique - style sketch, colors, BOM of materials and styles comments
  • Handover styles to Pattern Team
  • Ongoing dialog about fits, shapes and details with Pattern and Production Team
  • Participate in all related fitting; approving all colors and stitches/handlooms; keep setups and boards always updated
  • Assist and participate in the daily Design Team operation and preparations
