POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Sr. Digital Analytics Engineer (Hybrid remote), you will be responsible for the implementation and management of our digital analytics and tag management platforms.

The ideal candidate has a unique blend of technical expertise and the ability to partner with business teams that leverage digital data to define requirements and design/implement measurement solutions that will help us uncover insights to drive the success of our ecommerce websites.

You don't have to be a developer or know how to write code (although that's a plus!). We're looking for someone who will lead and architect the technical vision and execution for our measurement strategy.

This position has more of a technical focus, however there will be opportunities to participate in analysis, as we believe that implementation and analysis go hand-in-hand when it comes to digital analytics; in order to analyze, an understanding of the implementation is necessary, and vice versa.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

You will be creating and managing digital analytics tagging standards, ensuring robust and consistent data capture.

Subject Matter Expert and Main Administrator for Tealium and Adobe Analytics
  • Collaborate with Web Development teams to engineer and manage a consistent digital data layer across multiple company websites that follows best practices and maintains data integrity standards.
  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot Tealium and Adobe Analytics configurations including Data Layer variables, Tags, Extensions, Report Suite settings, Variables, Classifications
  • Administer/Manage access to Tealium and Adobe Analytics
  • Debug issues related to data collection, integrations, and cookies. Identify issues, what's causing them and work with our Web Engineering teams to keep data clean and trustworthy.

End-to-End Digital Analytics Measurement Solution Design & Execution:
  • Partner with ecommerce teams to determine business requirements for tracking site functionality and features on our sites that help answer business questions
  • Based on the business requirements, design measurement solutions ("Tech Specs") including data layer/Adobe Analytics requirements to track customer behavior on our sites that capture the right data
  • Deliver Tech Specs to IT developers and work with them to implement the tracking
  • Ensure that the implementation is production ready using various browser debugging tools, publishing Tealium profile updates to production

3rd Party Tag Implementations and Management:
  • Partner with digital marketing, MarTech and Ad Ops teams to help them implement tracking pixels, code snippets and other third party integrations
  • Manage the implementation of 3rd party tags in Tealium (ability to implement tags yourself is a huge plus!)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:
  • You have 3+ years of experience implementing digital analytics tracking solutions for websites, defining data layer requirements and structures
  • You're a Tag Management System advanced user and have experience managing and deploying code in tools like Tealium (strongly preferred), Adobe Launch, or Google Tag Manager.
  • You love the latest debugging tools and use extensions like Debugger for Adobe Analytics, Adobe Experience Platform Debugger, Omnibug, EditThisCookie to troubleshoot and QA
  • You're proficient in Adobe Analytics and have proven experience as an Adobe Analytics administrator
  • You don't have to be a web developer (it's a plus!), but a working knowledge/understanding of the fundamentals of website architecture (how sites work) and web-based programming languages like JavaScript, Regular Expressions, HTML and CSS is strongly preferred, especially in the context of implementing 3rd party MarTech/Ad Ops tags

Education:

Bachelor's Degree- in a related field such as Computer Science or MIS (Management Information Systems) is a plus.

Skills:
  • A unique blend of technical and business skills- must be able to talk "code" with developers, and about data/site experience with folks on the business side
  • Ability to probe/ask the right questions to business teams to find out what they really need to understand about how customers interact with our site, versus what they think we should "track".
  • There are often many ways to track user behavior on a website. We're looking for someone who will not only be able to figure out how to track something, but evaluate different methods of data collection and select the right solution that meets the needs of the business.
  • The patience and perseverance to troubleshoot issues and find the solution
  • Someone who is curious and isn't afraid to ask the right questions to learn how something works- before you can track anything, knowing how it works is critical.
  • Must be well organized and proactive- we need someone who can work well with minimal hand holding and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, but also able to pull up to see the big picture of what we're doing and how it fits within our ecommerce group and the company in general
