What we do

Sahara makes clothes for the free-spirited, independent woman. It's a proudly independent, female-run, family business founded in the 1970s, it has 15 own brand stores and over 150 independent stockists across the UK and abroad. 

We are looking for a Creative Copywriter/Editor to join our team on a 1 year fixed term contract. 

Sahara’s Copywriter will have overall responsibility for the written content produced by the brand. The Creative Copywriter will work under the guidance of the E- commerce Manager and Marketing Manager, and will translate deliverables across Sahara’s website covering all product landing pages, emails, interactive content, social media, videos and offline catalogues.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sole ownership of SEO-friendly product descriptions for all product online, working closely with the design team to create rich and accurate product copy on a weekly basis
  • Conceptualise, write, edit, and proofread engaging and lively content for Sahara’s online and offline channels, setting the Sahara tone of voice and bringing the brand to life in creative ways
  • Take ownership of Sahara’s blog, developing interesting & creative news stories that will appeal to Sahara’s creative and eclectic target audience
  • Ensure all pages on Sahara’s website are filled with consistent & creative content, developing the brand’s tone of voice so that it accurately reflects the brand’s unique ethos
  • Create the written content for multiple weekly email campaigns with inspiring content & engaging subject headers, experimenting with split testing where necessary
  • Work alongside the team in testing all product copy hyperlinks and general site content to ensure that information is accurate, accessible, and user-friendly
  • Conceptualise and produce original content for special projects, PR, articles, sales and events
  • Advise on the general development of the Sahara language and tone of voice both in print and online, working closely with the Brand Manager & e-Commerce Manage
  • Keep an eye on industry trends to ensure that our copy remains lively and engaging
  • Working with Sahara’s designers, create short and long title descriptions for Sahara’s seasonal collections for use online and on the retail stores epos system
  • Create engaging straplines and copy for all digital marketing campaigns across the business
