Freelance Accessories Designer

Wood Wood is looking for a Freelance Accessories Designer

WOOD WOOD is seeking a Freelance Accessories Designer to work alongside our in-house creative team at our headquarters in Copenhagen. 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES 

Reporting to the Head of Design, this new freelance position will lead the development of WOOD WOOD accessories across men’s and womenswear. The ideal candidate will have experience working in accessories with a particular focus on bags and soft accessories. This role calls for a great eye for detail and the ability to align seasonal ideas and concepts in accordance with WOOD WOOD’s DNA to create an elevated product. The selected individual will be a flexible team player with strong cross-functional communication skills. 

POSITION DETAILS

• Work closely with the design team to ensure that the accessories offering is in tune with the seasonal direction.
• Execute category-specific concepts and development.
• Develop seasonal trims and embellishments.
• Produce tech packs and update revisions from Proto to SMS.
• Develop and update design and inspiration boards.
• Participate in fittings for development and production.
• Ensure handovers are respected as per the development calendar.
• Participate in custom/special projects.
  
   

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 4 years of experience working in accessories.
• Highly skilled in Illustrator and Photoshop –– 3D design is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction with excellent material and hardware knowledge.
• Flexible mentality, able to adjust quickly.
• High level of idea generation and understanding of shape, proportions and functionality.
• Able to work from a design brief with global needs and price point targets.
• Able to create full tech packs as a tool to communicate with sourcing offices.
• Able to build and plan out a collection plan at the highest level, managing to strike a balance between commercial and creative perspectives.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of suitable supply bases for bags and soft accessories.
